It occurred to me that, provided the Thomas DLC is successful, some fun could be had by DTG and the players by dropping Thomas & Friends into different parts of the world via other preexisting DLCs. Thomas can experience ridiculous speeds in France, gigantic trains in the U.S., etc., and while adventuring learn something about different countries' railroads and cultures in general. Kind of like Tintin on rails. Sorry, I know that this is pretty vague as suggestions go, but I wanted to get the idea down before hitting the sack.
You technically can using free roam with all the preexisting routes by spawning either Thomas or Diesel on to the tracks, and using the map to set the route. I bought the DLC a little earlier and ran Thomas and Diesel on East Coastway between Lewes and Seaford.
