Really impressed by the scenery on the new routes: the attention to detail and textures are truly amazing. As a veteran of "Evening Star" on the ZX Spectrum 30-odd years ago I can only say thank you and well done to the folks at DTG (and more of the same please)! I had an idea for future routes, and I wonder if it would appeal to others. Instead of designing a route set in a particular era, how about routes which span several? Now we're starting to get steam locos, having something like ECML in three forms (say "steam", "BR/blue diesel" and "modern") would be really attractive. Either released as three separate routes, or even better as a single route where you can choose which one you want to play. Obviously this would be more expensive to produce, but I for one would be willing to pay more to get it.
It would have to be separate releases. I like the idea but maybe do like a different section instead for each era so the same route isn't rereleased several times to be in a different era if that makes sense
You're probably right about it having to be separate releases, but I can imagine one price for an individual release and a reduced price for a bundle of all three. There are currently two Isle of Wight routes: I've got and like both of them, so I think there might be an appetite for driving the same route in different periods. Stops you having to drive steam trains as railtours when you know you really want to drive the Scotsman in her heyday!
