I bought Train Sim World 2 a few months ago and have had this problem ever since I first down played it. I am a big fan of trains (French ones in particular) and had to use a lot of time and do a lot of research to get this game, mainly because I didn't have windows in the first place. I managed to download windows on my 2019 MacBook Air with bootcamp, a software made by apple to install windows. Then, I installed the game on Steam. When I first played the game, the whole game stuttered. (I was on the Aachen-Koln line.) I looked up at the digital clock in the top-left hand corner. The clock didn't move after a second, not two, not four but six. In other words, what would happen in one second in real life happened in six on my screen; if my speedometer showed 60 km/h, I would be actually be doing ten. Worst of all, my screen would freeze for a second, move forward a few metres, and freeze again. Within a few days, I managed to change all settings to have all screen and display functions on either low or off. This changed the time from six seconds to two/three seconds. Now, three months later I am tired of this problem. It has to ruin my experience on something I have wanted so much for so long. I have devoted many more hours of my time into finding a solution. If I want to spend 30 minutes into playing the game, I end up spending 1h20mins. Nevertheless, I have still purchased the LGV Mediteranee, an add on I have long waited for. Now, I understand that the problem may be be because my computer is not at all powerful enough and it may be that Train Sim World 2's programming to do this to save good graphics. Now I have tried to install windows on a 2017 MacBook Pro which has not worked and only brought me to another mountain of problems and research. Please help me, I would sacrifice worse graphics and an extremely long loading time to solve this problem. I want to have 1 second be 1 second. When I see the CSX, the 1972 stock tube and the ICE 3 in the picture before me, it breaks my heart to not be able to experience this wonderful game well. I think about this all the time. I hope this report will help this Train simulator improve. Thank you for listening to me. Thank you.
What are your PC specs, based on that some of the members here may be able to suggest some hints and tips...
Yeah that sounds like the computer is simply not up to it, have you tried lowering all graphics to the lowest they can possibly go? I think much like TS1, the game has to do a certain amount of processes every in-game second, and the clock won't tick over until they've completed. I've looked up the specs of the macbook air and it appears to have intel inside graphics, so unfortunately you've got a snowball's chance in hell of getting TSW to run at many FPS, but you can try to mitigate the impact as much as possible
Thank you for your help. Would you think that the Mac Book Pro would be up to it? In the game settings, I have lowered all possible graphics. Do you know any hacks to improve game performance?
