I know this is probably a big thing to implement, but would it be desirable to have a feature that allows the player to create their own timetable for a route? This would be similar to the scenario planner, but allows for a 24-hour playable timetable, including the control of services going off-route, train formations, routing (e.g. via fast or slow lines) and instructions (e.g. picking up passengers or shunting). Maybe something for the scenario planner 2.0 proposal if revived, but doing this would be great fun (even if immensely time consuming). Being able to program up your own virtual timetable for a route and watch it come to life. It could have potential of being shared via creator's club, and allows for alternative timetable or even alternative era gameplay on existing routes, potentially allowing the community to make more use of them. Thoughts?
It would be brilliant to have so that unrealistically quiet routes could be made more busy but considering the time and effort the professionals put into creating a timetable I would have no chance!
I'm sure some people in the community would be willing to spend many hours building timetables. If anything it would do DTG a favour by allowing the community to flesh out more from existing routes and thus potentially increasing their appeal (that's not to say the developers shouldn't give their best efforts creating timetables in the first place, especially when they have to meet a deadline).
Yeah there are many brilliant people in the community who would have the time and patience out there to do it and I would definitively use them. However like you say this wouldn't mean DTG can slack on their own timetables.
