Hi. I'm just getting into TSW4, 2 days in in fact. I'm quite impressed so far and could get quite enthusiastic about it but I'm surprised that it doesn't natively support the tobii5 eye tracking device. It would be an amazing improvement to be able to just look around rather than clumsily using controller joysticks, which never land in the right place without a couple of attempts, or the mouse and keyboard which is less convenient that the controller. It would be great for looking at the scenery which currently goes whizzing past without any appreciation. I would also like to see it available on the GeforceNow platform which lets you run Ultra settings on a potato, or similar lower spec device. A couple of missed opportunities I think. Any sign of it coming any time soon?
I have not seen nor heard of any talk, or message posts that it is an option they, "DTG" is looking into. The thing is while the Raildriver works, a bit doggy at times, but after all these years, it is still in Beta. But yes it would be a nice way to take advantage of the game, and I can't use VR, so a device like Tobii looks like good option.
It does? you are the first to say this, that I have seen, I know the older ya get the eyes are so great but this has been brought up in other threads and did not see anyone say yay or nay, to Tobii.
I did try Opentrack https://github.com/opentrack/opentrack with the tobii5 and it works OK (the 64 bit version didn't work so use the 32 bit). I need to tweek it a bit though as the ranges need adjusting and you need to be able to disable it easily as having headtracking on all of the time is not as helpful as I though it would be. Bottom line though is that Opentrack works but native tobii support would be better. Later:.... The Opentrack app does let you adjust sensitivities and assign keys to toggle tracking on/off and reset the centre position so, all good.
