Hi was the class 47 really as gutless as portrayed in TSW trans pennine? Seems going from Manchester that it couldn’t pull the skin of a custard!

There's a known problem with it. Have a search of the forums.

If you want to 'very unrealistically' blast a 47 on tsw there's a scenario called preparation duties on WSR where you can hit 103mph....

    Its bloody brilliant fun!

It has trouble going uphill. Going at a snails-pace has been my experience with the Class 47, but I'm at peace with it.
I also like your analogy, pulling a skin off a custard, lol.

As Jez says there's a problem with it on console, I believe it's much more sprightly on PC.

Well at least for mainline running, the Class tops out at 95 MPH.
