Proposal: TransPennine Express Class 68 & Class Mark 5A for TSW5
    Why It’s a Great Addition to TSW5
    1. Diverse & Unique Gameplay Experience
      • The Class 68 is a modern, powerful diesel-electric locomotive that would introduce a new driving style with thrilling acceleration and braking dynamics.
      • The push-pull operation with Mk5A coaches offers a different experience from traditional DMUs or EMUs in TSW5. Players can operate from both the locomotive and the driving trailer, adding operational variety.[IMG]
    2. Expanding the Modern British Rolling Stock
      • Currently, TSW5 has a strong mix of DMUs and EMUs, but a modern UK locomotive-hauled passenger service is missing. The Class 68 fills this gap and complements existing routes.
      • The Mk5A coaches bring a high-quality passenger experience ,with detailed interiors, TPE branding, and a fresh alternative to existing British rolling stock
      • .[IMG]
    3. Route Integration & Future Potential
Perfect fit for existing and future TSW5 Northern routes, particularly Manchester Airport Commuter and Glossop Line.

It mostly fits with the Manchester Airport Commuter they would be a perfect standalone add-on for the TSW5 Manchester Airport Commuter route as they operated key TransPennine Express services between Manchester Airport and destinations like Scarborough, Redcar, and Middlesbrough from 2019 to 2023. The Class 68 offers a powerful, modern diesel experience with distinctive acceleration, braking, and engine sounds, while the MK5a Driving Trailer enables push-pull operation for seamless turnarounds. Their inclusion would introduce high-speed, semi-fast intercity services, adding variety to the existing commuter trains. Additionally, they could provide future layers on other Northern England routes, increasing their long-term value in TSW5

but Manchester Airport Commuter is comming to TSW5
the thing is that its on the TSW5 roadmap ,its comming soon so the TPE Class 68/ MK5a Driving trailer can be an add on for that route if released.

      • Could also be utilized on scenarios and layers for other routes where Class 68s run on railtours or substitute for other diesel duties.
    1. High Player Demand & Realism Appeal
      • The Class 68 has a strong fan base in the UK rail community, making it a sought-after addition.
      • The locomotive is already well-known in Train Simulator Classic, showing that there is demand for it in TSW.
      • High-quality sounds (from real-life recordings) and authentic cab controls would make it one of the most immersive diesel locomotives in TSW5 also plus DTG could probrably add the class MK5a which is a type of railway vehicle in use in the UK

Its a driving trailer were built by Spanish manufacturer CAF, and were operated by Transpennine Express, it definitely should be included in the add on; the class MK5a can even play a part in the driving experience it would be wonderful experience to drive the class MK5a which is a driving trailer, The Class MK5a fits with the TPE Class 68 + MK5 coaches in TSW5 because it serves as the driving trailer, allowing for push-pull operations and accurately replicating the real TransPennine Express setup heres how it looks like if youre confused on what it is

    1. Commercial Potential
      • DTG could release the TPE Class 68 & Class MK5A as a standalone DLC also with the MK5 coaches with layers on multiple UK routes, ensuring strong replay value.
      • Maybe DTG could include additional liveries like DRS, appealing to a broader audience but the required DLC would be WCML South cuz it kinda fits with it.

    Conclusion
Adding the Class 68 with Mk5 coaches plus with the Class MK5a driving trailer would fill a key gap in modern UK rail operations within TSW5. It offers a unique driving experience, enhances route variety, and meets player demand—making it a valuable and commercially viable DLC for Dovetail Games.

The trouble with the MK 5s is that their life was so short-lived in a single location. As of now.
It would be better to make a 397 first and work back from there.
Even saying that the 802 were used more widely, and should be easyish to make from the LNER 801, and the 185 does most of what the MK5s were supposed to, and can still be used on modern routes.

I'm also salty that I never managed to sign the 68 and MK5s before they were returned. :')
