    Hi All,

not sure if I've asked this before, but do the track joint sounds vary by route or per locomotive? On some freight cars that I have installed using the krellnut mod, I can still hear the DTG track joint sounds which sound terrible. How do I go about changing them to make them sound similar to those that come with Sherman hill etc?

I stand to be corrected on this but if I remember correctly the track joint sounds are set as per the try or if track used when creating the route. So you would need to edit the sound file for that specific track set.

Think its on the Rolling Stock, Since different trains sound different on the same routes. Perhaps on older routes its track tied, but all of APs EP/Packs have joint sounds on them.

Different rolling stock has different track sounds, so it must be the rolling stock.

The track only says when to trigger the sounds, but it's the rolling stock that makes the sounds and therefore either links to Kuju or wherever or has it's own set of files it accesses.

I see, yes the Kuju sounds are terrible. Some sound like bashing something made of metal and the others sound like a horse clip clop. I want most of my US content to have the same track joint sounds as sherman hill (the krellnut sounds have the same running sounds, but the joint sounds are still the original kuju/dtg default ones).

As for changing them to alias the Sherman hill sounds, what files would I need to edit?

Look at the sound files for the track on Sherman Hill and compare them with the track on the route you wish to change.
