Just reporting this because I can and it's a bit suspicious that it might happen due to a small engine change, such as rounding. Better safe than sorry. (Using production build) On my last run northbound from Johnstown to Altoona, this time on freight main, I noticed a warning, and since free roams have no pressure, I drove safe and responsibly and stopped. I can't explain why the game thinks that the rails end ahead, in that I don't see any gap (not even a typical elevation glitch which is continuous, just makes the driver fall out of the seat). I suspect this is old, with scenarios typically avoiding it, but at the same time really weird that you'd have a gap on the main (fine, new PDL has electricity gap, too). Not an issue in that it made a semi-snoozing run into a scenario (stop, inspect, adapt) and I could circumvent it by switching to the passenger main and continuing as usual. Anyway, the pictures: It's Horseshoe Curve in Summer and I took the long train just out of Johnstown, but I assume it's best to replicate with the one that starts in Johnstown.
This spot has always been a problem with HSC it seems - it's not related to the core updates. (Also not to 32 / 64 bit). It's a flaw in tracks.bin. I have just tested it on build v72.3 (pre core updates), it is the same. Some route building wizard may repair it by splitting and welding again? (There's a remaster out there I think which also adds the missing superelevation...) My answer is: CONTENT problem. TS Classic 2022 (v72.3b) Edit: I've even tested it on TS 2013 - same here
I think they left it in this state as scenarios were already existing. Fixing this could break compatibility, so scenario authors found their way round this spot. You could, as a minor "fix", add some static workers here - "under construction"
That makes sense, too. Indeed, the scenarios I recall about this area usually switch me and have some stationary trains, stalled or else.
Might it even be possible that it was a deliberate ploy by some developer to add 'interest' with broken track that got left in when they productionised it?
