I have bought some TSW4 routes in the sale and l noticed when purchasing that l get a message “Steam Summer Sale 2024 Trading Card Valid until 08/08/2024, 17:00:00” Received from purchasing during the sale. It says they can be sold for cash. Please could someone inform me what is the use of these trading cards, what are they for, how to sell them and does this give you discount on future Steam purchases and also what are the booster packs are for?
They are of no use whatsoever, just treat them as a bit of fun. Nobody buys them in my experience. I have loads of them from last year when I went a bit ‘Sale Crazy’ - I put them up for trade and still have all of them.
You can sell them by going to https://steamcommunity.com/id/UserNameGoesHere/inventory and clicking on the trading card, they will only sell for a few pence though. Right now for example you would only get about 4p per card, and that will probably drop further as more people get cards. Getting a full set of cards lets you make a badge, but and badges increase your Steam Level, but a higher Steam Level doesn't give you any benefits such as discounts. Booster packs just give you more trading cards.
