Train Sim World could take immersion to the next level by letting players make live announcements on any route using their own microphone. How it works: A PA/Announcement Mode in the cab. Press a button/key to “go live” on the train’s PA. Speak into your mic — your voice is played back in-game with authentic PA sound effects for that route (slight distortion, reverb, or station-specific chime). (optional but would be great) Passengers react dynamically — they pause, look up, and respond to delays or service changes. Why it’s great: Adds realism to all routes, freight or passenger. Encourages roleplay Perfect for streamers and scenario creators.
It's a good idea I like it but there's nothing stopping you from making announcements without the microphone.
Just pretend to talk into the tannoy... Real announcements are done by professional voice actors and therefore usually not available for free distribution. Synthetic voice announcements cannot be copyrighted, can they? Unless a company chime or jingle is included?
You can still normally announce stuff even if your doing a freight service, and you could just use it for fun
The Coal needs to be aware where it is, and where it isn't. If it doesn't know where it isn't, the coal will not behave normally.
POV: You're announcing the final destination to the coal "Welcome onboard this GBRf service to Your Doom. Calling at: Painful waiting time, Remote Location, A red signal and Your Doom." - this service is formed of Way too many coaches.
