Dear all, I'm very new here and in train sim 4 and I got stuck in "gravel boogie" (hope it is the right name/translation as I only play in German. I made all steps, shunting the train and driving to Niederau, where I'm now standing at the station in front of a red signal, waiting to drive to Riesa. But since some hours simply nothing happens. The signal remains red and calling the dispatcher only gives me "wait for the signal change"... The scenery already switched from daytime to nighttime. I tried to drive but when I passed the signal game was over. The same in the other direction. I also startet it new from the beginning but I end up at the same scenery... How can I manage to drive my train to Riesa or at least to change the signal to go? Thanks for any help! Ralf
You are talking about, I did complete it under a different profile, but if this is the one I will rerun it.
Yes, Ballast Boogie is the one. I stand with the ready shunted train at Niederau station and my next job is to drive my train to Risa which is 25km away. The signal shows red since some hours now and the dispatcher always says that I shall wait until the signal changes... I didn't know that it is a simulation of Deutsche Bahn, where all trains are late ;-) Best regards Ralf
I just ran this scenario and all went well, I made a few mistakes with PZB and overspeeding, but No red light problems. Do you have any mods installed, if yes check them to see if they are outdated.
I installed the game just two days ago and without any mods. I will try it again tomorow from the beginning - the third time. I'll let you know if the problem still exists or if it works well. Thank you so far for your help and support! Ralf
Ok, I tried again but what I found out this time is a real bug: I drove my train to Niederau station but breaked too hard so that my train stopped around 250m before the mark. I wanted to speed up again, but the game uncoupled the wagons and I drove the loco alone without the waggons to the next stop mark. From there backwards and than I saw that the wagons stood on the switch which I had to pass next. I stopped where the game told me to do, changed direction, contacted the dispatcher and was told to go on. In front of me another train, the switch in front showing to the other track which was blocked by my wagons. Ok, I first was thinking about restarting again but then I wanted to know what will happen if I speed up. So I did, passed the switch and drove against the waggons. But no accident, I drove through the wagons or better through the whole wagon set until I reached the next mark. There I was told to couple the wagons again, but the distance to coupling was shown more than 300m away. Ok, my loco was now standing inside the wagons but the game did not recognize that. However - this part of the game, ballast boogie, is really buggy and I now stop trying it again. Best regards Ralf
Okay no mods, just follow the instructions as they are given, this is one scenario that is not bugged, learning to apply the brakes takes a bit of practice and the best way is in the training center, you can run the Vectron All you want and get a few for how to and how much to apply the brakes.
Hi again, I tried it again and now I could finalize it! Maybe I was just not fast enough the first times? Because I had to find out a lot which took some time and maybe I was to careful not to make any mistakes. At my try now I speed up everything and I reached Niederau station much earlier (5-10 minutes). So I was again waiting at the signal direction Riesa and after 5 minutes I thought that I will be the same again and nothing else happens. But suddenly there was a passenger train arriving at the neighbour track in the station and a few seconds later my signal turned to "go". I newer saw this passenger train in my tries before! Maybe because I was to late? Or maybe it's a bug? ;-) So I'm not allowed to be to fast and I'm not allowed to be to slow ;-) In the meantime I made another training with a car train behind my loco. I had to drive at 160 km/h and I thought, hm, interesting with a car train (as far as I know these waggons are limited at 120 km/h when they are empty and at 100 km/h when they are loaded). But however, I've got no information about it, when I drove with 160 km/h. Maybe it's a bug, too but at least this is not realistic ;-) Best regards Ralf
Good to hear you got it completed, try searching the forums for Vectron there are a couple of threads that should assist you more.
