Hi There, Today I went to launch Train sim and as usual, the splash screen shows, and then the actual app shows it opening. However, the splash screen disappears (as expected) and the app shows it is selected on the taskbar, but it just shows my desktop. If I click off it, like onto chrome, and then click the train sim icon, it shows an app opening up and the screen flashes black (as usual) but then it just shows the desktop again. usually, it would go into train sim in full-screen mode. Problems happen with 32 and 64-bit versions. Have fresh installed through steam and still happens Have deleted 'playerprofiles.bin' to force that to be remade and no change. I would appreciate any support I can get!! Many Thanks Myshka
M Are you starting TS via STEAM (incl OFFline) mode or via railworks.exe and railworks64.exe? What are your system specs incl the Monitor - most people forget that - LOL. Where is TS installed and how much hard disk (SSD) space is remaining? Any error messages in "View Reliability History"? Have you run any Windows Diagnostics - DXDiag (any error messages in the txt file - right at the end); sfc/scannow - any messages? It may not be easy to find what is causing this, these are the first steps!
Tried launching it today and it is now working correctly... *insert smacking head on desk* I didn't try anything else to fix it so I am unsure as to what the cure was but will come back here if it happens again. Thanks for all the help though Peter !!! Myshka
There was an update recently meaning in the last few days and then another one yesterday. Dunno what they were because I only noticed them after the fact but perhaps that had something to do with it. Or maybe banging your head on the desk helped...
