Are you sure? Did you see those dinosaurs over there? It's normal?
This gets better and better.
Now I'm stoked!
Indeed, Skyhook Games has done a fantastic job on this route and there's much to be stoked about!
This is a landmark moment for TSW being the first desert environment. These have to be some of the best looking screenshots for TSW I have ever seen, and they don’t even have a train in them. It looks like Skyhook is making it known they should be taken seriously as a 3rd party developer. Just an FYI, Skyhook is also working on their very first game “Lawnmowing simulator” that will be coming to PC and Xbox Gamepass later this year!
Will the mainline see some additional AI traffic? Probably no need for them to be player interactive, but it would probably make for a nice touch seeing a bit more of UP trains, maybe even with some freight cars from other US routes sprinkled in.
Yes, there will be main line AI.
How do you know? Are you working for Skyhook Games?
He writes a lot of the articles for DTG previewing routes!
He's Gary Dolzall. He's the North American train whisperer. He just knows these things.
I've certainly been called many things, but "train whisperer" is a new one.
That’s good news, at least the mainline won’t be so empty.
The route looks excellent, was always a favourite in Trainmaster 4, then later Trainz and MSTS versions. Motive power, well it would have been nice to see something a bit different from what we have in the game already, but hey ho. As regards timetable and scenarios, well it was always going to be a bit sparse. I remember seeing a suggestion a while back for a passenger excursion and this would have added a bit of interest. In fact one of the runs in TM4, though you never saw the train, was coded as a passenger consist with slightly higher line speed. Sometimes authenticity has to give a little in the face of playability and plain fun..
Seeing photos like this, just an amazing sight for this route....
