Not exactly :) Only a substitution. No additional traffic because of 155.

How comes an Australien YouTube channel (GFYS Gaming Australia) is already showing off the br 101?! Are they releasing it on local time, rather then UTC?

2 of the scenarios are 50 minutes! Must be back and forths the route isn't big enough otherwise.

I don't know if the PC version will be better (I hope so), but from what I see in this video, sounds and physics of the engine during each single boost and release of the throttle are much more complex = realistic and therefore immersive in the other title also by Dovetail (aka Train Simulator 20xx).

Here, both the physical and sound engine seem much more simplified (flat).

Consoles usually release at 0.00. PC (Steam) usually needs to wait until around 17.00 UTC.

Because denoting things in ascending size order makes no sense whatsoever. Writing month/day/year is like your clock showing hours:seconds:minutes. Yeah, put the smallest unit of time in the middle, that’s not clunky in the slightest. I wouldn’t expect anything less though from a people who prefer Fahrenheit over Celsius :D

That extra light switch has caught us all out but once you know it’s there in one train you know it’s there in all the others.

Has the real 101 also such traction problems as here in the game?

I believe so. It's an older model so it doesn't have the fancy traction controls like the 146. So you have to ease the throttle up.

Also, it's geared for high speed, not torque.

Yes it does, the 101 have more fancy traction controls than the later TRAXX locos. It have super slip control with a radar fitted but it was later found to not need it and so the radar was disabled. It's almost impossible for a 101 to slip. The traction motors control this automatically by limiting power on the slipping wheels sets before the driver can even notice its starting to slip.

With the 101 you should be basically be able to lay the power down and the loco will sort it all out.

Can somebody confirm that the PZB Lights in the cab under the tachograph are not dark if the PZB-Switch is activated?

With the 101 being launched earlier than Hamburg-Lübeck, do you think there will be a timetable layer added to this route for those who have this loco?
I think this feature would be good to sell more of these two add-ons. If they do I will buy both at full price.

I certainly hope so. It would be a bummer if the 101 would remain exclusive for HRR, as that is a very short route.

Why? It does drive there. Since they included ICEs in RT [something I'd never ever expected them to do] I'm somewhat looking forward to also see the 101 in Hamburg-Lübeck.

Yesss, this will make RT so.much better, even if you can't drive them. If DTG would do the same thinq with MSB for example (and some ai traffic in HMA at the munich hbf area to make in more lively) it would add so much more realism into the game!

It seems from what I’ve seen to have the same issues as the other locos do. On the TRAXX locos in game the traction is lost within a certain speed range and is unaffected by track conditions or amount of load the train is hauling. In those other trains full throttle before the brakes fully release on a heavy train in dry conditions will not result in wheel slip (and they won’t slip until higher speeds) but full throttle at those higher speeds even on a light loco will. I’ve made bug reports about it. It seems odd that this loco would have a similar issue with it being new. As I don’t own this DLC I can’t investigate its behaviour or add it to a bug report.

Not really odd as a good bit of this DLC is copy and paste. It has the same blue cab graphics error as the 425 and MP36. It has the same horn as the ICE3 and it has the same MFD from the 146.2 as the speed range only goes to 160km/h on it. And that's just what I've noticed from the Tutorial.

Hopefully next German announcement is an intercity route, where 101s can be used with max speed of 200km/h with LZB.

It doesn’t do that in game. The wheel slip is really quite aggressive.

Maik (?) explained somewhere on this forum that it was done on purpose, in order to reproduce the real behavior of this locomotive.

I will not say anything! I do not know :)

    some example

Modern locos like TRAXX do use macro-slip control. This means as soon a axle starts to slip the TE on that axle will be reduced immediately. So, the axle basically can't 'run away' under optimal conditions. But that also reduces the overall effective TE alot.

The 101 can do macroslip too and it is doing it in the game too. But it also uses a thing called super-slip where the axles slip by purpose to gain the max possible (not max effective) TE from the axles. So the axles are allowed to slip faster than with macro-slip and begin to resonate too what you can hear by the screaming sounds of them. Super-slip is activated by a pre-selected TE percentage of about 75-80% by the driver. So it is controllable by the driver. That super-slip is not massively slip on the 101 in the game you can clearly see by using it and watch the loco being able to accelerate like without slip any slip. Try it, play with it, you will love that. It is different, yes. Maybe most user will call this a bug.

The Radsturz is too much when you give power at 60-70%

Therefore, on the occasion of this premiere, many people are surprised by the lack of information before.
Such flavors are very appealing to the imagination.

If that's how it works in the game as described - good job. For me, 101 is a must-have without it, but it's good to hear so many positive opinions and interesting data.

It’s certainly a new twist to keeping a locomotive under control. I’m enjoying driving the 101. She’s great.

Is this the "new" standard price for loco add-ons or is this a mistake.
    Previous loco dlc's cost €13,99.

This is the price of a full route?

So the mad slipping at higher speeds in the other locos in the game (185.2, 185.5, 146.2) is a bug because the slipping shouldn’t occur, but in the 101 it is a more ‘gentle’ slipping allowed by the loco for a specific purpose. That’s interesting.

Ok now that the 101 is out, I have just one question. I know the 101 is usable in the scenario planner, so for that purpose I want to buy this dlc for use on HMA and SKA, but I don’t own HRR and don’t plan to purchase it, so, does anyone know if I can just purchase this without HRR and just use it in the scenario planner? I know it may seem like a dumb question lol, but, after all, I’m just a teenager living with his mom in his neighbor’s basement:D

You can't, but if you're on PC, HRR is at a really good discount and for that, the route is definitely worth it, it even ads 425 to your HMA

Well, in that case, I’ll have to wait for a sale on Xbox, and since sales aren’t very frequent for TSW content on the Microsoft store compared to the steam store I guess ima have to wait a while to get it.
