For the next three weeks, TSW3 + 15 addons are available for €12,74 https://www.humblebundle.com/games/train-sim-world-3-mega-haul-bundle
Interesting... To get BCC, LIRR and Hamburg to Lubeck would be £10.97, far cheaper than likely to be in the Steam sale. But is this a bona fide source for purchases. And DTG, how about matching this for a direct purchase from Steam?
Humble is very reputable- it's a charity program. I've bought several bundles and never had an issue. I'm not 100% sure how it works but i think the keys are donated by devs/publishers, which is why it's so cheap- so the bulk of the purchase goes to charity.
Not sure of the exact method by which Humble gets the keys, but the bulk of the money by default goes to the publisher. In the case of this bundle, if you pay the $14 minimum for the whole package, the defaults are set to $9.10 to Dovetail, $0.70 to the charity (SpecialEffect, a UK charity dedicated to helping people with disabilities enjoy video games), and $4.20 to Humble. The donation sliders can be customized, with the caveat that the minimum going to Humble is capped at 15%. Something to be aware of: Only one of the fifteen DLCs is TSW3 native, that being BCC. The other fourteen are all TSW2 "compatible" routes and locos, which you would get/have gotten free anyway if you already own them for TSW2. Also, the only way to get BCC is by buying the full 16-item bundle; the smaller 10- and 6-item bundles don't include it. That said, only $14 for TSW3 Standard plus BCC is still a pretty good deal, as I doubt tomorrow's Steam sale will go anywhere near that low. But if you already own TSW3, the value of the bundle to you will depend entirely on which of the original TSW2 routes you didn't already have (and want).
Thanks for confirmation. Sounds good and always nice to help a worthwhile cause. I take it you don’t have to pay a subscription, just buy the package(s) that you want?
You don't need a subscription. You only need one package (lower tiers will include the stuff from higher tiers). A pretty good deal if you miss several routes. In my case, Birmingham Cross City is the only one I don't have yet. Not worth buying the bundle just for that route, but if someone happens to have a spare key, do send me a private message
I‘ve got loads of TSC stuff from Humble Bundle before and it’s let me try stuff I wouldn’t normally buy. Also picked up loads of loco DLC that I thought I would never use and found that it meets a scenario requirement later down the line. It’s always worth keeping an eye on their website. As others have said, you can customise your donation so that more goes to charity In my opinion the default gives a ridiculously small amount to the charity). Though I do always leave a little for DTG to encourage them to do it again.
We've worked with Bundle to organise the keys and bundle - and a proportion of the revenue goes to one of DTG's charity partners for the year, Special Effect. Just overnight it's already provided a real difference
As I just said in the Latest Sale thread, it just enabled me to add nearly £70 of TSW routes missing from my collection for the princely sum of £10.97. Much appreciated DTG JD and in fact to show that appreciation direct to DTG, about to drop £18 on the Glossop Line which I was otherwise going to leave for a sale later in the year.
Yes, also what keys do you still have maybe you could share them so others can get them (I can understand if you already gave those away to friends)
I have 12 unused keys but want to confirm the most secure means of distributing these without compromising my email or Steam credentials. I suppose I could list them on my FB page then it's first come first served.
The keys aren't tied to your email or Steam account. The last time someone on here had Train Simulator keys to give away they listed the items they had and gave the keys away via PM, first come first served.
You just share the key and what dlc it's for and players can just add it to their account without having to share personal details
If anyone can make use of any of these, just DM me letting me know which keys you want. I've used humble for tsc and picked up nigh on 15 routes for silly money.. Would use again in an instant
I've given some of excess away already, but can offer DRA claimed SFJ + Baby Bullet claimed TVL claimed LIRR + M3 claimed
As an aside, grabbing this bundle also taught me that TSW3 will run at 60 on my Ayaneo Geek handheld in its pro mode at 26W TDP. Meaning I can now get some very meta shots indeed of me playing TSW while riding the routes in question
I am wondering if the Focus buyout is going to change this. Focus' games are ALWAYS on sale on XBox. They're in all the big seasonal sales, they have direct Focus publisher sales, their stuff tends to be in the DLC sales, their stuff from the likes of Spiders and Dontnod tends to be in all the RPG sales, they have stuff like Call of Cthulhu in the Horror sales, their stuff is featured in the simulator sales, the list goes on and on. I don't think a month goes by without me seeing a load of Focus titles in the XBox sales, their stuff is regularly featured in the weekly Deals With Gold discounts, etc..
I just bought it yesterday, what a sweet deal and I'm very happy with it. I also get to play some old DLCs I bought with TSW2020. The only problem is that I was playing the standard TSW3 edition on PC Xbox game pass and reached level 20 but now I have to start all over again.
Again, it’s not the developer’s decision. Xbox just approaches them and offers them a chance to put their stuff on sale. Personally I think TSW doesn’t get it often because all the DLC is already 10% off if you have Game Pass.
Next one, Rapid Transit, Lucerne and maybe Edinburgh to Glasgow - count me in. It’s a great way of rounding out the collection.
Yep. I did the same with the TS Classic one a while ago. A great way to bolster your collection. Just bought the TSW one. I have quite a few of the items, but as most of my content is UK, thought I would have a look at some of the other routes in the game, and I get Cross City which I don't have, which gets me discount on Glossop which I quite fancy.
Yes, but it's pretty clear that certain larger publishers receive FAR more frequent sale slots. Focus' games are practically always on sale on XBox because of this. I don't recall one I've bought that wasn't, and I own a pretty diverse bunch of games published by them. Focus are always featured in the aforementioned Focus publisher spotlight sales, where their entire catalogue is on sale, simulator sales where their sims are on sale, DLC sales where DLC from everything from their RPGs to their soulslikes are on offer, etc. Off the top of my head I cannot name a Focus published game that hasn't been on sale on XBox at least four times in the last year. DTG didn't get many sale slots, Focus have always had them nigh-constantly. Ergo, a Focus-published TSW3 should see more sales.
Such a kind thread - people giving away unwanted keys. As a beneficiary of this, I decided to make a donation to SpecialEffect, of pretty much what I would have spent on the Humble Bundle, had I had the inclination to buy it. Sorry it doesn't add to the overall Bundle count, but it all goes to the same place!
Does anyone still have a leftover key for Tees Valley unclaimed? Was eyeing that one mostly, for some diesel gameplay and sadly only the top bundle has the route. Probably gonna buy the small bundle myself instead of a single item on Steam, and support charity instead of just businesses.
The only thing I've found slightly annoying with Humble Bundle is the constant two step verification whenever you go to your purchased content. I understand why they do it but slows things down a bit while you wait for yet another email to drop.
My thanks go out to the community for sharing extra keys with us. I felt like I also needed to contribute to the charity while giving back to the community and as such I now also have something to offer. If anyone has not yet upgraded to TSW 3 and wishes to do so now, I have one TSW3 Standard Edition key available, so anyone wishing to upgrade from TSW/2 PM me. EDIT: The key was claimed
Bunch of keys available from me. Pleased to see TSW get involved with Humble Bundle and it's given me a chance to fill some UK blanks and get Cajon finally. DM if interested in anything off the main list except: Std edition Cathcart Birmingham Cross City M3 EMU Clinchfield Hamburg Lubbeck
