    Hello everyone!

We've seen your feedback and thoughts from yesterdays preview stream and I wanted to create a post which updates you all why these issues are happening and where we're at with any changes.

    Performance / Stuttering:
This was one of the main questions, and the answer is simple. The machine Lukas was using was struggling, because he was running the game at 4k, streaming it at 4k, recording and down sampling which had an effect on the quality and was the cause of more than the expected levels of stuttering/lag.

You will likely still experience some stuttering in certain situations, such as the unloading of content as you drive. This is because the more detailed we make our routes, the longer it takes to unload causing momentary pauses.

You can watch the preview on demand on our YouTube, which doesn't have these performance issues.

    Lighting:
Taking into account the new lighting system, any changes we make will effect all lighting situations across the game, so we'll keep an eye on player feedback to understand where we may need to make changes if needed.

    Tunnel Lighting:
This is caused when we transition from dynamic lighting and weather into "baked" lighting for the tunnels and as it stands this is unlikely to change.

[Copying in from Matt's response in another thread]
There has been a fix to the entry of tunnels where they seem to settle into a foggy stat that fades down to dark - that's now gone in our test builds so some improvements still under way at least.

    Horn Echo:
We have heard your feedback for the horn echoing in the tunnels, as it stands this is unlikely to change.

    Passengers:
Due to performance restraints, we are limited to 200 passengers across any given station, and going above this would cause drastic negative effects to performance. Now 200 does sound like alot, but over some of the larger stations this can spread out quickly. We have added logic to prioritise passengers on trains, but to add realism we also increased the volume of trains at stations so the passengers ended up being more spread out anyway.

    Lightning in Tunnels:
We're working to remove this, however it will be unlikely in time for launch.

Please do keep your feedback coming, we're listening and we wanted to keep you all informed.
Have a nice weekend everyone! :)
