    Hey guys,
Sorry to bother anyone, but ever since I downloaded this game off of Xbox app (game pass ultimate), I have been getting extremely low FPS and having insane stuttering. I am averaging 40-80FPS which seems terrible for my PC specs.
    Here are my PC specs:
I5-13400F (NOTE: THIS CPU HAS NO INSTABILITY ISSUES, THE EVEN MORE HIGHER END DO)
    RTX 4070
    32GB of RAM
    Windows 11 23H2
    1920x1080 @75hz

In MSI afterburner I am getting very low system usage (even in task manager). I have made sure that all my updates such as GPU drivers and windows updates are up to date, my pc did not receive the 24H2 update (apparently 24H2 update causes easy anti cheat not to work, so windows has made sure for gaming pcs not to receive this update).

The stuttering keeps on going and coming, and whenever the stutter happens, I make sure to check my task manager, and from task manager, my CPU and GPU are the same as before, with no spikes, but my lag spikes very high on MSI afterburner. My CPU and GPU are running in the 30-50% when running this game at ultra settings. Not only that, my temps are all ok and are not at all high (temps are in the 60's)

I am assuming this is because this game is fairly new, and all this game needs is a patch, this is my first train sim game that I have played, and I have been blown away by how good this game is, so please can I get a fix so I can enjoy this game even more. :)

How long ago did you get the game installed on your PC, building up the shader cache is one cause for stutters and hitching, you just need to run long-short scenarios does not matter the more the better, you can even run the same one several times. TSW5 does need much more optimization, at the same time you can try using an enhanced ini found on https://www.trainsimcommunity.com/ the one Jetwash created works good, and with the older routes, there are a few others another that is growing in popularity is one created by Mounettliss.

You also need to set the Sky quality in-game to high/very high any more and you will have issues, adjust the in-game settings and test till you find what is working best, I can honestly say with 4070 (I had one and still have it as a backup) it does struggle and pushed it, I even tried HDR with it, "not good" :) I currently have a 4080 PNY and I still have stutters and some hitches, every now and then I have out of video memory the GPU has the Cuda cores but lacks in video memory, ironically the 3090 ran better but I had RMA it.

The bottom line, get an ini file that helps make things a bit better and limit other programs running with the game as best you can. Who knows what and when DTG will push out to address this issue?

Honestly, I have not found any game yet that is limiting my PC... I can run FH5 or MSFS at max settings and still I am getting 90-100 FPS (with my GPU at 100%, but the FPS is not like 30, and is 100). I did find out that my saved games are doing better as yesterday I was running my saved route that I last played a week ago, and I was getting a stable 90-130 FPS, still with my PC around about GPU 60% and CPU at 55%, but I was not getting any stutter UNTIL, I was reaching the end station which started some stutter, but then the stuttering stopped. The devs have updated the game, so maybe it will run better? I will start a new route today later, and I will see if it will run good on the first run of the map. upload_2024-10-19_10-12-32.png

My install is heavily modded. With lighting mods, Ini mods. Extra foliage etc..
    Scailing at 150% and I'm averaging 60fps.
Gpu at 100% (3070) since the update my cpu seems to be doing nothing! 1% usage (12600 i5) can't shift the stutters even when running vanilla.

Xbox PC? Turn your settings down, having extra foliage and so many mods for a 3070 isn't good... Make sure your game is up to date also

No I'm on steam. I really don't mind the 60fps. I wouldn't say it's one of those games where you need to be at 180fps.
The ini mod makes the difference. Especially when driving at night with all the light sources stretching to the horizon, instead of popping in a few hundred yards ahead.

What is it, a 60FPS cap?
By the way, can you share some mods, I'm running via xbox app and I am not sure how to use mods with the game. Pl share the ini mod :)

No it's not capped. Some of the older routes I get 80 or more.
I'm away from the pc atm. I'm not sure how the modding works thru the xbox app. I know it can be done, there was a post on here recently showing the path to the folder for mods. https://www.trainsimcommunity.com/mods/c3-train-sim-world
This is where I go for most of my mods. I can have a look later at the ini mod.

I don't know much about the XB on PC options, but if you have the option to add launch options as in Steam. Maybe you can add these. -DX12 -HIGH -USEALLAVAILABLECORES

Sorry for the late response, I need to figure out where to put these command lines...
By the way, the stuttering is NOT fixed, and is equally as bad as before, but atleast I am getting more FPS. Before I was getting roughly 50-70 FPS with stutter, now I am getting 100-120 FPS(70-80 GPU utilisation, sounds good now) but the stuttering is VERY bad still, especially on the San Bernadino lines where there are alot of items moving, and alot of things to render, such as cars along the highway. I have been getting alot of stutter + some stutter that freezes the game for a solid 5 seconds.

Yes, I've been getting some major hitches and more stutters than in TSW4. I'm maxing out at 80 FPS at times but mostly steady at 60. Wit the Steam version.

is there a way or command that gives TSW 5 a order to use more ram ? like in ATS with mm_poolsize ?
i know thats different engines but maybe something like that exists for UE ?

You can try these launch options via Steam, as for how and if they can be used with Xbox, I'm unsure.

True, but it will have the system allocate more CPU resources to the game, as for a command to allocate more RAM, I have no idea and have not heard of an option like this. TSW is more Graphics and CPU-intensive.
