hi. I have recently bought a new computer running windows 11 as my old one which ran windows 10 stopped working. However when I tried to play train sim world 2 the screen began to glitch out in a way that I have never seen before (image beneath). I had the same result with both train sim world 3 and 2020. All of my other games work fine and I'm not sure how to fix it. I know that my computer is capable of running it because it is an upgrade over my old one which ran it fine. Just looking to see if there is a solution before I submit a ticket. Thanks in advance
That is an unusual glitch - I would check that you have verified files in steam and also that Train Sim World is using the right graphics card - (I'm assuming you have a dedicated graphics card and are not relying on on board graphics). - laptops can run into issues with gaming - but other than that - I would maybe confirm the specs of your laptop...
Thanks for the response I have checked the graphics card and verified the files on steam however it still doesn't work. I might submit a ticket now but thanks for the help
Yeah yesterday I spent a lot of time updating the drivers thinking that the display driver was the issue.but they are all up to date
And what happens when you actually "press any key to advance"? Seems to me that the resolution of your screen was not picked up properly, is it possible that you copied over your old saves to documents folder? Try, this, go to ".....\Documents\My Games\TrainSimWorld3\Saved\Config\WindowsNoEditor\GameUserSettings.ini, and look for these lines: LastUserConfirmedDesiredScreenWidth=3840 LastUserConfirmedDesiredScreenHeight=2160 LastUserConfirmedResolutionSizeX=3840 LastUserConfirmedResolutionSizeY=2160 DesiredScreenWidth=3840 DesiredScreenHeight=2160 Set them manually to you desktop resolution and save. But maybe it will be already set correctly. If this does not help, delete the whole \Documents\My Games\TrainSimWorld3\ folder and try again. All will be recreated from scratch.
The way I understand it he cannot even get to the menu. Otherwise yes, that would be the first sensible thing to try, different resolutions and windowed/fullscreen toggle.
Right Alt + Enter also switches from fullscreen to windowed mode and vice-versa. Extended desktop mode is another possibility.
I have tried all of the above and when I press any key to advance it does advance however it continues to glitch out
Windows Key + P should show a menu. But what happens if you press Right Alt + Enter? Does it still show the shifted picture?
Oh okay. You can try to download a previous graphics card driver. Or remove the drivers and try the standard Windows 11 drivers, else I dont know.. Edit: What resolution is your computer using?
Sorry for the confusion using extended mode has appeared to have fixed it. Thank you so much for your help
