If this fits the off topic section, please move it there.

Here’s the trailer for the TSW VR version of the Harlem line DLC:

It’s coming soon on the 27th of March and I presume that the game is finished, so every shots of gameplay shown are from the final version right ?

Why is there no third rail and no water under the bridge ?

Why showing videos from the TSW version to pretends it’ll look like this but it’s not, instead for the VR version, there’ll be no third rail and the graphics are straight up from the PS3, it kinda reminds me of GTA IV with the aerial section of the subway in North Algonquin. For me it’s a bit of false advertising to includes shots from another game:

these are valid points, but one thing to keep in mind is that the Oculus has the same processing power as a PS2. So things may be constrained, in terms of development.

Yeah I agree in that maybe I went a bit too far but when they showed parts from TSW to pretends it’ll be the VR version is kinda wrong.

It has a lot more power than a PS2; I don't know where you got that from. A game like this would be impossible to run on a PS2, or even a PS3.

That said TSWVR is a stupid idea. The majority of the simulation has been cut out, so it isn't really a simulator at all. The game is being made for a device that nobody really cares about, which won't be able to run the game well anyway. The developers have been busy adding a flat for some reason, rather than prioritising the core gameplay of a train simulator.

Adding VR support to the PC version of TSW would have been a reasonable thing to do. There's even a mod that adds partial VR support. Even Train Simulator had partial VR support at one point. With a bit of work, they could have got it running on the PS5, probably with special timetables to allow for a high framerate. I'm not sure what they were thinking of with this to be honest.

The trailer said the footage is from a pre-alpha build. It basically looks the same as the trailer first shown at Dovetail Live last August. So best to wait if any more detailed gameplay trailers come out before release.

Matt was going to preview where it was at on a stream back in December but couldn't get his Quest to work. So there could be preview streams as well.

Which trailer caused the most nausea, this one or the Thomas one? Only this one had a warning.

The game is expected to be released on the 27th of March so it’s quite worrisome to show the same pre-alpha build. The game’s supposed to be finished.

Exactly the game releases in 4 weeks and they're still using pre alpha footage? Come on

Reminds me of the golden commodore 64 era where you had beautiful box art that looked nothing like the game.
