As you can see trainbow showed up in the menu. I thought i would get to drive it FINALLY. But i got into the service and the game gave me 395021 instead. Talk about gutted. Gggrrr
The train selection screen shows a random train number. Just because it appears on the vehicle selection screen doesn't mean that you'll be given it on the service you choose. It is randomly assigned to a service within timetable mode and journey mode.
That's annoying. On the first Javelin service I did I got the Trainbow. I haven't found the Medway 2025 one yet though.
It really makes not a lick of sence to have a random livery in this game, isn't randomly working routes and locos frustrating enough for everyone?
Why not? It seems the vast majority of people here are keeping their eyes out for the Trainbow and Medway units (me included) and it adds a little bit more variety without choosing the variety from the menu.
It makes a lot of sense seeing as though there is only the 1 unit that has the trainbow special livery on it in reality, the same with the back the Medway banner. In real life, there are quite a few trains with special liveries on them that trainspotters try to find to photograph and record. Imo, it makes the game much more fun as you can be a virtual trainspotter whilst still enjoying the driving etc.
If a person want to drive the trainbow then having to do a bunch of restarts to get it just ruins the fun an waste a players time. Why any one thought this was a good idea was reaching for something to add to the game, there are all ready to many frustrating problems we have to deal with.(Heck i don't why someone couldn't just create the trainbow with livery editor).
Come on now, why has it become a habit to badmouth absolutely everything the developers come up with. It is not like the train behaves any different just because there is a rainbow on the sides, and when sitting inside you won't see it anyway. In contrast, I would actually argue that we need more "secret" liveries that are tied to single units. In my opinion, looking for and randomly finding a one of a kind train while playing enhances the experience much more than if I could freely select it whenever I wanted to.
Who mentioned restarts? I’m not sure anyone would keep restarting just to get a certain random livery. The fact I got the Back Medway one was pure chance.
Couldn’t agree more. It adds so much to the game when you randomly get assigned a livery or see it out and about.
