This is possibly the last place I should be asking, but I've been trying to get into train driving for a little while. All the jobs around me (Guildford) are for qualified train drivers, no companies are offering ways to train up to be a train driver so how am I supposed to get into it? Does anyone know of any vacancies or anything? Just a little frustrating because it's been kind of a dream for me.
Do you already work on the railway or not mate as already working for a company would make it much easier but even then a lot of people apply and often vacancies are few and far between. Good luck though mate and be sure to keep us informed if you do find something and in the meantime just keep browsing!
Unfortunately I don't, thinking of going for a guard role for now and working my way up. I always knew it was gonna be competitive XD
