I'm going to do a monthly development insight into one mod I release within the current month (e.g. November for this one) whether it has released or not to explain what goes on behind-the-scenes (This development insight is not going to be the same as usual because I haven't released anything this month because of bugs which are plaguing Scenario Planner at the minute but I believe improvements are on the way but I will keep updating you all in my Creator's Club Releases thread if a mod is going ahead or if it is cancelled) November's 'Development Insight': Case Study: (TG08) Midland Master P1 & Midland Master P2 (Jubilee) We chat to the OP of this thread, TrainGeek08 to talk about the scenarios '(TG08) Midland Master Part 1' & '(TG08) Midland Master Part 2' that were eventually cancelled last week due to crashes on MML What is the backstory to Midland Master? TrainGeek08: "The backstory to it is that a fellow member requested it to me so I said "I'll add it into my Creator's Club Roadmap for a release in October or November". Even the rolling stock in the scenario was explicitly requested as well." How did you place AI in the scenario? TG08: "I used Realtime Trains to place AI at certain stations along the route that you would see whilst you travel along the MML." How much effort did you put into creating the scenario? TG08: "I put plenty of time into creating both scenarios, so when they crashed, I thought "Please don't tell me that I will have to cancel this one too..." but it turned out I had to cancel them." How did you feel after being forced to cancel the project? TG08: "I felt gutted after it crashed the final time, especially since this project has been requested by a fellow member." Would the community have liked the scenario if it had released? TG08: "I think that the community would have enjoyed it, especially Part 2 where there is a lot more AI since you are travelling up the MML at peak time." Will you eventually release the scenario when the crashing is resolved? TG08: "Oh definitely! It would make me happy and hopefully the community will want to subscribe to it too." Thanks to TrainGeek08 for taking the time to answer those burning questions for us Conclusion: Anyway, this is it then, hope you enjoyed this one, put your thoughts below, from me, TrainGeek08, I'll see you soon for another CC release announcement or suggestion, enjoy the rest of your day and goodbye Release date changes: N/A
See I’ve never seen or read your stuff. I keep myself to myself. But just look at the effort you put in lad. A lot so fair play to you,,,your clearly have dedication to your work and I respect that. Maybe if I’m not so scared all the time we could possibly chat. Until then. Lee, (TSLP).
I changed it to a DB BR 143 eventually, see my Creator's Club Releases thread where you can download the scenario
Hi yes I can see the amount you put in,,,,I feel we are slightly the same when putting effort in. I just need to get better at a few things like links etc,,,. Plus and I don’t t know how you balance it all out but how do you balance work on the actual liveries or scenarios and then spend time on here?. Soon I’ll be employing someone to do all my paperwork. The work I have to get done along with this I just don’t have the time but it very important at the same time. So why for me at this stage is something I am looking at doing. I’m even looking at a channel on YouTube as a friend is helping with that and I am also getting music rights as I’m sure you don’t want to hear me drown on for 2 hrs. My videos will be more than just watching me build these liveries but also a way to chill and just relax to some ace tunes. I’ve done my market research I love my chill dub mix. Or Programmers music they call it. Could even bang some Scooter on. Rave on So from me that could say is starting out then I just wonder how you find the time to do it all. You probably don’t ramble on as much as I do that’s why. Well of to work,,,I am working to a time frame you see. An opportunity that can’t be missed. Keep the work up lad,,,I like to see passion and dedication to your craft. A grafter of old. Lee (TSLP).
Since I tend to release liveries/scenarios around a week apart, I tend to pick a day where I can create the scenario and then test it so I have enough time to make edits to scenarios/liveries that go wrong, so that's how I make scenarios/liveries in such a tight schedule
I'm not sure actually, however the mod has released but if that's the case I might change it to a DB BR 612
Okay I get that. I think that’s quite a good way. Yet deal with both liveries and scenarios so double work I guess. I think it could just be the nature of my work and the amount of planning done as if you read on some of my project post you will see the thoughts behind it all. But listening to what you say here I feel I need to give some structure to the work sheets. Fancy that I was a traffic planner for 12 years looking after a fleet of over 500 coaches in operations across the UK and Abroad. And planning driver duties for all UK drivers so I’m sure I can sort this. Lol. Another point tho is picking up those mistakes. I work all day and night with only 3 hours kip sometimes. I work like Isambard Kingdom Brunel,,lol. Doing this isn’t always the best policy as I’m tired and my focus or judgement may not be the best. I do testing may self yet miss thing off then only pick it up later on. It doesn’t look good nor not good for users if they have to keep looking for updates. I also think due to my competitive nature I try do to much. Something I said this to a player that once that was quite popular on YouTube. He quit due to having enough and I was just staring up again so tried to get him to enjoy it again with out having that feeling of competition. Just enjoy I said but I myself have not listened to my own advice so,,, Yet you see TSW than just a hobby so will not quit and like mentioned looking at expanding. But with all to consider to plan a little better maybe like your good self than hopefully I’ll succeed and not fall flat on my face. As I’m doing things say from a design perspective not replicating so for one livery like say the class 801 can take up to 90hrs work or nearly a week with colour testing,,,project research,,levelling or decal placement planning. I even consider regulations and laws when designing a livery. Most of this is done in a managed way and has to be. Your comments are valid and will be most certainly considered. Plus I respect you for your work and talents. And I suppose going back a little bit of a comment you said a few day ago,,then yes you do all that you yet feel it goes unnoticed. But hey you just never know what can happen and maybe one day all that hard work wasn’t for nothing after all. The Dream doesn’t come to you,,,you have to chase it my friend. ✌ Lee (TSLP).
