    February's 'Development Insights':

I'm going to do two monthly development insights (into one scenario and one livery) I release within the current month (e.g. February for this one) whether they have released or not to explain what goes on behind-the-scenes ;).

    This Month's Case Studies: (TG08) CrossCountry Farewell HST Pack (HST) + (TG08) 1S45 PLY-ABD (220)

We chat to the OP of this thread, TrainGeek08, to firstly talk about the livery pack (below) '(TG08) CrossCountry Farewell HST Pack (HST)', that releases next week.

Can you tell us the backstory to you making this pack?

TrainGeek08: "Of course! It all started in November 2025 when I released the Grand Central HST. I was so impressed with the reception it received, and it told me that I should do more HST liveries. This pack came into being out of that thought."

This pack seems like a mammoth task. How long did this take you to complete?
TG08: "It was a mammoth task alright... Overall, this pack took me 9 hours and 40 minutes to complete. Considering my liveries tend not to last more than 3 hours to make, this pack is the longest period of time I've spent in the Livery Designer in one go! I'm telling you, this concept will be a 'once in a blue moon' concept due to how long each individual livery takes to make."

Which power car was your favourite to recreate?
TG08: "You'd be thinking it was 43007 because it was the easiest one. You're wrong though. I loved making 43184 the most. That InterCity Executive livery really pops when you get the colour palette spot on. Plus, it is the only power car in the pack with a nameplate..."

Do you think people will be put off by the 50/50 livery split on the front?
TG08: "Let's be honest for a minute. I said on my thread earlier this week that people will probably not enjoy the fact I 50/50 split it on the front, but I feel what I've done on the sides would detract from the 50/50 livery split on the front end."

Are you open to doing more livery packs in the future?

TG08: "We'll see. As I said earlier, it would be a 'once in a blue moon' kind of scenario, so it would be sporadic appearances of this concept. This doesn't mean I won't do them, but they will be few and far between so to speak."

How do the liveries in this pack compare to your previously released Grand Central HST in terms of quality?

TG08: "I actually used the Grand Central HST as the base for all three sets. So, the quality of these sets is on par with the GC HST, if not better in my opinion. The time and effort I put into this pack better pay off next week I tell you!"

We then ask TrainGeek08 to discuss the scenario (below) '(TG08) 1S45 PLY-ABD (220)', that will release in a couple of weeks.

Why do a scenario involving the Voyager?

TrainGeek08: "Well, Skyhook Games didn't include Voyager services on their Sprinter Express TT, so I decided to make a scenario involving the Voyager to provide a different driving experience to a Sprinter or a Turbostar you would normally drive on this route."

How long does the scenario run for?
TG08: "This scenario plays for 40 minutes. A pretty decent run along the outer Fife Circle via Kirkcaldy with accurate AI throughout."

What is the backstory to the scenario?

TG08: "So, you are driving the once-a-day CrossCountry service from Plymouth to Aberdeen between Haymarket and Markinch, calling at Inverkeithing and Kirkcaldy en-route. However, a yellow weather warning for heavy rain has been issued for the north-east of Scotland today, so be careful out there."

What year is the scenario set in?
TG08: "This scenario is set in 2019. Quite a few of my scenarios this month are set in 2019, just by pure coincidence; I promise... It's not intentional..."

Do you think this scenario will do well on CC?

TG08: "I'm unsure. I hope so, but I'm not getting my hopes up just yet. We'll see when it releases later this month. It's something different, so people might enjoy it more."

Is it an LNER Azuma run next on the Fife Circle then?

TG08: "My lips are being sealed shut on this one... Keep an eye out on the roadmap as the year progresses to see when the next Fife Circle scenario is..."

Thanks to TrainGeek08 for taking the time to answer those burning questions for us :).

    Conclusion:
Anyway, I hope you enjoyed this one, put your thoughts below as ever . From me, TrainGeek08, I'll see you soon for another CC release announcement, enjoy the rest of your day and goodbye ;).
