Hi all. Due to the way that TSW5 is packaged, it is now not possible to complete the journey mode for Training Centre (for those of us who like completeness) because of the mandatory German content. I personally have zero interest in learning to drive German trains and also don't particularly want this locomotive and stock in my collection. Hopefully we can move forward with only the stock we desire rather than having something unwanted placed into our collections. Just for clarity, my collection is UK only and I'd prefer to keep it that way.
Just get the free starter pack or the UK Regional Edition and you won't have any German or American trains in your collection.
That is incorrect. The free starter pack is effectively training centre with the UK class 66 and 323 and the German electric locomotive and cab car. I did buy it exactly as suggested above. You don't get the choice to ditch the German content.
You can't expect DTG to release base content like the training center in several different versions just because someone don't want to drive a certain tutorial but want to have the journey completed. This is (please don't misunderstand) ridiculous. I don't see a problem. If you're a completionist, bite the bullet and run the German tutorial in the training center to complete the journey, otherwise just ignore it and leave the journey incomplete. It doesn't hurt to drive these 10min tutorial and then never touch the unwanted content again. EDIT: I, for example, had absolutely no desire to look for the collectibles in the training center and did it anyway because I wanted to see 15/15 Easter eggs and 20/20 information boards at the end. Be brave and get through it, it doesn't hurt.
My only gripe is that DTG previously stated that you can have your collection your way. Never mind though.
Hmm, I don't count the content of the training center as part of "my collection", but rather as part of the basic content of TSW itself. Because none of the gray rolling stock appears anywhere else in the game.
