As nobody sems to mentioned here in the forum (or I didnt find that): The shop of TrainworX will be closed at 1st August! The products will be moved over to simtrain.ch, and by this time on the TrainworX webshop the products already are not anymore possible to buy. Here you can read the information in original: https://www.trainworx.nl/hrf_faq/trainworx-webshop-will-close-on-1st-august-2024/ There are some freeware stuff on the website two, like scenarios, ... so it might be the last chance to grab them. On the product pages are some updates/patches linked, so it would be not wrong to grab them too, if you had bought some of their stuff. Another important information: the installer of the payware uses a serial number, and for validation they perhaps need the connection to the site/shop. With moving to simtrain that will be changed, but it seems theres at this time no information how it will workd for those who bought some of that stuff. So it could be a thing to backup the installed asset-files
I've got two locos from there - I'm usually not a fan of buying from 3rd party sites and do prefer Steam because it's troublefree and doesn't impose questionable DRM stuff on you that could fail anytime (just got turned off making my first purchase from RSSLO directly - never again!) These TrainworX locos place a <random characters>.bat in the RailWorks folder, be sure to back these files up as the loco script will check for their existence. Example:
Thanks for the heads-up, I have a few items from Trainworx so I'm very grateful that you've posted this. I'll be sure to create backups.
dont have any clue. But was there not an update by Rivet for their RaBe523 because of something SBB have intervened? Hmm, have too 2 products (IC2000; and the KISS). Tried to install it (in a empty TS to have all installed files), but I came not over the validation. I enter the serial, then .... nothing happens. Seems its already not possible anymore to use the installer . But the KISS one I always had trouble for installing OK then I have to search my installed assets and back up them from there.
On a wider note, might be worth grabbing any core SBB items in the next Steam sale, lest they suddenly vanish. (Mainly thinking Gotthardbahn). Perhaps they looked at what Rivet did with Luzern to Sursee in TSW, threw their hands up in horror and took their toys home. (Though joking aside it wasn't that bad a route, just a bit short and the train a bit iffy with wonky ECTS).
