Hi all If anyone would like to take a look at TramSim Console Edition which releases today, I have a First Look premiere scheduled for 10am BST
It's a bit to learn and get your brain around, but after cracking that it's awesome fun blasting around the streets at warp factor 10 lol, many speed limits were broken, and trams crashed, but only in the name of science.....
No mate but I see on PSN that a few people have that trophy so must not be too hard! Whoever it was, mine is with chilli sauce lol
Is there any kind of HUD display available to show where you are or if you have gone the right way or what time to arrive etc? I watched you drive the first run and shared your confusion. It puts me off a little as I would just be feeling anxious I wasn’t doing it right.
OMG amazing and so easy too, was expecting some wild expedition on foot to find it. Shall be getting me this shortly, awesome guide/vid
No mate thats one unfortunate thing, no map. At the start of the run in the setup you can say if you want manual junctions or not. I always say not so I should be able to assume that I am always going the right way. I did a guest spot points challenge with the BritishAce yesterday and he ended up going the wrong way. Our theory there was he could have had the manual jcn setting on or he was so close to the tram in front he automatically ended up following it before the jcn had time to change! Since the videos I have done you do get to pick up the routes visually too a lot more
if you do a munich run you can change the setting to simplified which automatically sets the route for you. so you can not got the wrong way.
I’ve been playing it quite a bit on ps5. I wasn’t sure how much I’d actually like trams, the idea seemed boring, they’re not exactly high speed. But I’ve been loving every minute so far. Being in a tram, you feel way more immersed in the cities than on a train sim, generally speaking (doesn’t mean it’s better, just offers a different experience). And it also means that’s there’s wayyyy more signal activity due to sharing roads with cars- which I enjoy. One of the issues with Train Sims is the general lack of signal activity- for the most part a timetable run is going to feel like a green light fest… whereas with the teams you’re definitely going to be paying more attention. As for staying on route- I haven’t had that issue yet, I don’t think, lol. Learn and follow the signals and you should be ok, probably. They could definitely work to improve that area, a map, etc. But the actual driving experience is fantastic. I like the game.
Just how can PS4 handle this game and Xbox One not? Since when does DTG decide xbox ones player money isn't worth the effort to port us a version as well.
Maybe Viewapp (the developers) didn’t make an Xbox one port? DTG can’t publish what the dev doesn’t make.
Probably different hardware and technical things. Viewapp is responsible for making the port to consoles so they probably came across some major issues while building it for xbox one
I agree with everything you just said I also wasn’t sure if it was my thing but I’ve not been able to put it down. Lots of interest on my channel too with everyone pretty excited about it
To be honest ps4 can't cope. There are no ai trams and less cars and people around on ps4. I play on PS5 and it's pretty quiet on PS5 too. More ai would make it 9/10. As has been said, I too thought I'd get bored after a while but I haven't put TSW on since I bought this. Not better, just different. More lines and cities will be very welcome!
So what are the differences if any between PS5, Series X, and the existing PC version? Lower level of detail, less pedestrians and traffic? Do the console versions run well?
I don’t think xsx and ps5 are particularly gimped at all… it’s more the ps4 version that seems pretty poor. Not really surprised tbh
Downloaded this today on my Xbox Series S and I’m really enjoying it so far. It’s a really immersive experience and good fun getting used to sharing the road with cars and other trams. It’s clever how the traffic lights and signals work on the same system and I’ve found there’s plenty of variety, rather than driving the same route again and again. One criticism, is that you can’t control the onboard computer using the controller which makes it difficult to use, plus it’s in German! I really hope we’ll see more routes in the future, particularly UK content.
No HUD, but it’s all there in the cab, mostly. Haven’t played Munich yet, but lots of Vienna. Depending on the model of Tram, the IBIS will list the next station or the next couple of stations for you, so you can compare that to where you’re stopping. In terms of punctuality, the IBIS uses the same systems that used on most buses as far as I’m aware of: -2 means you’re two minutes early +0 means you’re right on time +2 means you’re two minutes late W2 (I’m guessing) means you should wait two minutes (happens between scheduled runs)
Are you referring to the IBIS computer or whatever it’s called? I found it very wonky to use but when I press triangle on PS5, it gives me the IBIS close up view. In that view is where I can start selecting the options using the D pad, I think. My apologies if that’s not what you were talking about.
I bought the deluxe edition when I got paid on Friday, after reminding myself a few times it's not DTG so I have to pay attention to the controls I've gotten the hang of it...more or less. However I'm really enjoying it for the most part, the routes are spectacular in places, the Trams are great and intentional or not I love that Cars will just cut in front of you meaning you have to slam your brakes on haha. I hope future DLCs are planned for it.
There's the E1 for Vienna that was released for PC, so I'm hoping that'll come to consoles at some point. Other than that, I'd love to see the game continue to grow, either by adding more lines or even new cities.
