The standard edition of TramSim is 25% off on both Xbox and PlayStation at the moment but the deluxe edition is not. Do players that have bought the deluxe edition feel I’d be missing out if I buy the standard version at the discounted price?
I think the deluxe version just adds a depot to Vienna and an extra tram. Personally I’d go for the 25% off, see if you even like the game.
If I recall correctly, the deluxe version adds the Vienna depot and ULF-trams, right? If so, you’re not massively missing out. The ULFs are quite nice, but a bit too squeaky clean for my taste. They do add a lot to the visual variety though. After all, the ULFs are actually four distinct types. The depot adds a lot of potential, but potential is the operating word here. With the finicky way Tram Sim’s timetable is (manually) set-up, it’s up to you to include the depot in your runs if you want to. It’s nice and I don’t regret getting it for the full experience, but you probably don’t miss a lot without it. Is there a deluxe-upgrade? Then I’d definitely go for the 25% off. If not, I’d carefully consider if I might want the deluxe stuff later on and possibly wait.
Just a heads up, Tramsim is a free play game this weekend on Xbox. If you are on xbox, it might make the decision easier.
Thanks for all of your replies. I’ve decided to go for the standard edition with 25% off and have added the upgrade dlc to my wishlist in case it ever goes on sale.
