    Hi all

I am an absolute non-expert, but the trans pennine does not have any speed warnings at all.
I know that BR usually publishes track guides (I have the one for the other routes) but even in that case there still are warnings on the route.

    Is this prototypical?

    Thanks, Marco

Not sure what you mean by speed warnings. Do you mean speed limit signs?

Mkdog45: I did not mention track plans. What I was referring to are the guides to the engineer, which in the UK are called the Route Sectional Appendices.
I do not recall if it's allowed to enter links here, but if you go to the NetworkRail website and look for Sectional Appendix you'll find what I am referring to, you can download the pdf documents of the lines.

Jez: usually there is a warning speed sign at braking distance before the new speed limit takes effect, if speed is decreasing. In the Transpennine route there are none, or I did not see them

Don't think they had those in 1983. Might be wrong, but thought that was down to driver/route knowledge and would very much be train type/weight dependent.
These days you get the yellow triangles showing the speed limit ahead.

If you're using next speed limit (?) in the HUD, you should see limit change warnings there.
