Fortunately, storage is inexpensive these days. A lot of games can be played from a mechanical HDD. I have a 4TB HDD for games, only using SSDs for trains sims.
Well if Mrs Vern doesn't sign off on me getting a new PC soon, going to grab a 2Tb mech which I think I have a spare slot for. If not will kick out the 500Gb drive sitting in there as F. Certainly an interesting day as we have this, the interest in FH4 and the new route, or rather SoCal route extension for Run 8 just come out. Which reminds me to go and grab their update...
Impressive, over 200 Kilometers. I genuinely might pick this up as I've been genuinely wishing for a Russian Train Simulator.
The problem I do have with this and why I previously refunded, is that the “role play” kind of gets in the way of the driving. It might be funny having to drink vodka to keep yourself alive but when the view out the cab goes blurry as a result, couldn’t quite take it seriously. Also the track laying was fairly crude from what I saw on the demo, like they had followed the terrain rather than make smooth gradient profiles. So, hanging fire for now - maybe see if it rocks up on a discount in the November sale.
Yep, it's a survival game. A different idea - using the same principle of just driving a train from A to B is not what sells. Besides, you can toggle the Action gameplay elements off and focus on driving and repairing your train.
