Now that TPE is owned by the UK Goverment , my suggestion is Manchester Picadilly to Leeds *1 is 1h09 & has 7 stations , Manchester Picadilly to York *2 is 1h35 & has 8 stations. The rolling stock : Class 185 *1 , Class 802 (Nova 1) *2 , Class 68 *2 , Nova 3 *2. Please No More Class 66
all of those trains do the full manchester piccadily to york services, except 2 hourly 185 services (Huddersfield to Manchester piccadily and Leeds stoppers) might as well get modern manchester victoria ingame too
I would like to breathe some new life into this one please…. Leeds to Manchester Piccadilly & Manchester Victoria (inc Brighouse) Modern Although I do not know total route mileage for this route, it is well within the usual TSW length. 23 (ish) stations with a huge amount of gameplay opportunities being set in 2023 compared to the original version of the route. It can re-use the high quality route from Manchester Piccadilly to Guide Bridge from Glossop line. Lines from both Manchester stations converge at Stalybridge, then onwards to Huddersfield, Dewsbury, and Leeds. It is a textbook northern mainline, with hugely varied stock and stopping patterns, coupled with incredible scenery across the Pennines and towns full of character the whole way along. Stock Opportunities: My initial suggestion is that this route comes with a TPE Class 802 (based of the LNER 801, with the necessary modifications), a TPE Class 185 as the ‘new’ train, and a re-liveried Northern Class 158. Whilst I appreciate this is probably requires slightly more time than is usually dedicated to loco work, I would argue that the end result would make this a suitably special route. The TPE 802 would not be an insignificant amount of work, needing physics and sounds adding, but I hope the model would not need touching. The TPE class 185 although needing work, should hopefully be doable on top of this given it is only three coaches in length. The Northern class 158 should be a simple reskin job with an updated interior, requiring minimal time. Timetable Opportunities Include the main 4tph fast across the Pennines, 3 from Victoria, and 1 from Piccadilly to Leeds, with varying stopping patterns of Stalybridge, Huddersfield and Dewsbury. Then there is 1tph each way from Huddersfield to both Piccadilly and Leeds forming the stopping services, supplemented by 1tph Northern 158 service from Brighouse to Leeds along the eastern half of the route. The 323 could be layered to provide stopping trains between Manchester Piccadilly and Guide Bridge, providing variety and- critically- traffic for TPE trains to be stuck behind (as commonly occurs in real life). There is also opportunities for RHTT traffic, and the odd freight service at night (although none run during the day). AI opportunities include further Northern 158 traffic at Leeds and Manchester Victoria, LNER 801 traffic at Leeds, EMT 158 traffic at Manchester Piccadilly. All thoughts welcome. I’m sure I won’t have thought of something, but personally I would be extremely excited for some proper express DMU action up north on an iconic route.
Seeing as we already have Manchester to Leeds in TSW, with better trains too, I would rather have somewhere else than this. I’d file this away with all the modern GWE requests in the highly unlikely to be made by DTG anytime soon.
Very well detailed suggestion! Well done! This sounds like a great transpennine network we could have in the game with alot busier traffic! Brilliant idea! I'd love to see this in the game!
I still think that the original NTP is very lacking and should have some dlc created to fill it out a little more. Specifically Classes 25, 31, 123, 124, 128 and 141 and perhaps even some static 504s at ManVic (unless a Vic to Bury add on is forthcoming). Every one of these were to be found operating in the area in the early 1980s and are conspicuous in their absence.
i already talked about the stock The rolling stock : Class 185 *1 , Class 802 (Nova 1) *2 , Class 68 *2 , Nova 3 *2.
Not going to lie I would love to have a route with TPE as the operator especially with the 185's. I have wanted to make a suggestion about it but I have zero time to do so, too busy. But I will back any suggestions suggesting any form of TPE . And the Nova 3's being withdrawn with only what.. 4 years under their belt, quite sad to be honest and poorly managed.
