Since we have a very "vintage" route it would be nice to complement it by having along side a modernized verison. First TransPennine Express inherited a fleet of four Class 170 and 51 Class 185 DMUs as well as ten Class 350/4 EMUs from First Keolis TransPennine Express, although the Class 170s left for Chiltern Railways to be converted to Class 168s shortly afterwards. After the new rolling stock has been delivered, 22 Class 185 units will be returned to Eversholt Rail Group, whilst the Class 350s are due to transfer to West Midlands Trains after the Class 397 units enter service in 2019. There is a good starting point for the route, obviously to have all the locomotives would be very long process, like with most DLC routes if they consist of 2 engines that are fully functional and have at leas 5 scenarios each then it's good enough.

According to wikipedia most common 2 engines present are Class 185 alongside a Class 802. The class 185 is a typical semi-modern DMU and the Class 802 is the new HST that would also be replacing the one on GWR route in the future. About 19 stations to work through.
