Since a Trans Pennine route is being readied for release on TSW, I'm not sure that another one will be released for TS2019 in the near future.
You could be right Gordon7000 and it is the first TSW route that has grabbed my attention with a view to getting TSW. It might be a trigger for others too. On the other hand, as the groundwork, (research) has been done, it could mean that DTG might release it on TS20xx at a later date.
Yes, Cat, hopefully they will. Perhaps it could be set in modern times using the new TPE units about to be put into service .
Ah! I'm old skool, prefer the BR era, that's why it caught my eye. In the 1960s BR introduced a new DMU specifically for the route which I'd like to see, can't remember the Class No
Was that the Class 124 ? - introduced on the Trans-Pennine line in 1959 and continuing to the 1980s. I'm very much 'old-skool' myself - dating back to the days of steam trains! - so I wouldn't really mind an earlier era. It might solve any problems DTG might have with licensing arrangements for current TOCs.
Is there a suitable existing route in TS2019 to run the Class 185? Yes, I see that the Class 185 TPE could run for at least part of the route from Manchester Piccadilly.
Here's the 124 Trans Pennine Express and it would be good to have the route to go with it. Set in the 60/70s BR period of course. @ Gordon, same era myself, on my way to school I'd cross a bridge over Cowes station, Isle of Wight and watch the little Adams 02 locos going about their business.
Since it's so close in time to the setting of the new TSW Trans-Pennine route, maybe DTG or another developer would be more inclined to feature the TPE as a future add-on for TSW rather than create a new route for TS2019. I've got the Stroudley on my IoW line for TS2019. These are fascinating little locos.
A TPE would be good in either, if they made one for TSW then I'd invest in TSW. But from what I have seen of the UK diesels on TSW they already exist in TS, and I believe were all IronHorseHouse content. I've yet to see any newly created locos there. As for 3rd party devs in TSW, I understand that TSW is a DTG monopoly and will not be open to 3rd party devs to create content. A policy that is IMO short sighted.
Best go read the latest studio update... The editor is apparently being released for third party testing this month. That means 3rd party content
That is good news, the lack of content puts me off committing to TSW, that and the lack of an editor.
TPE 185's run/used to run over the following sections in TS2019 Liverpool - Warrington - Manchester WCML over Shap WCML North Newcastle to York And when there is Engineering work - Newcastle to Edinburgh Master Key Simulations have a 185 on their Facebook page but it's not ready yet. https://www.facebook.com/masterkeysimulations/ Peter
Thanks, Peter. I know that TPE also run a service from Manchester to Glasgow via Carlisle, but I don't when they started that service or which class of train they use.
Via WCML over Shap & WCML North. Currently the trains are mostly 350/4 Emu's or 185 Dmu's The 350's were introduced at the end of 2013 - before that the Manchester to Scotland services were all 185's 185 109 Carlisle in April 2010 185 147 Glasgow Central Feb 2011 Peter
