This is a suggestion of a modern day take on Northern Transpennine originally released in the original TSW. I propose both the Transpennine route and the Calder Valley line with the connection between the two at Brighouse the routes are as follows: Excluding the branch to Blackpool You could include just Victoria or add Piccadilly aswell. Trains: Class 185 Class 195 Services: Calder Valley: Bradford Interchange–Halifax–Huddersfield (Class 150 and occasionally Class 158 ) Leeds–Dewsbury–Manchester Victoria–Wigan Wallgate (Class 158 and occasionally Class 195 Civity) Leeds–Halifax–Manchester Victoria–Chester (Class 195 Civity) York–Leeds–Halifax–Preston–Blackpool North (Class 195 Civity) Blackburn–Burnley–Todmorden–Manchester Victoria (Class 150 or 156) Halifax–Bradford Interchange–Leeds–Hull (Class 158) Transpennine North: Six trains per hour provided by TPE in both directions run on the Huddersfield line between Stalybridge in Greater Manchester and Leeds Liverpool Lime Street to Newcastle (via Manchester Victoria) Liverpool Lime Street to Scarborough (via Manchester Victoria) Manchester Airport to Newcastle (via Manchester Piccadilly and Manchester Victoria) Manchester Airport to Middlesbrough (via Manchester Piccadilly and Manchester Victoria) Manchester Piccadilly to Hull Manchester Piccadilly to Leeds I would also include the line linking the two routes at brighouse. I appreciate that the route is very long as it includes both branches but this allows a varied service with fast services and shorter services to cater for all players and time slots that have available to them. This route does have some similarities to a previous suggestion of mine which if also completed would mean that all the trains would overlap making the route more manageable. https://forums.dovetailgames.com/threads/northern-network-halifax-york-hull.82783/ This would mean that the suggestion prior to this would have the 158 and 195 layered to this and the 185 would layer onto the Halifax to York and Hull route. I know people have been interested in a modern take on the Pennines and this feels like a good way to do it. Please let me know your thoughts and any ways to improve this suggestion.
I would like this. Maybe the line to blackpool could be a modified version of blackpool branches? And Piccadilly could be made from the glossip line?
If we're thinking something based on here, I'd recommend the Airedale wharefedale line. Howether I quite like the Leeds to Manchester route and would be happy for it to modified to be more modern.
I only didn't suggest this as I know it was also suggested recently but the Airedale and Wharfedale lines are something that I feel would be great too.
In 2021 I suggested the Calder Valley Line. The other one seems to be the existing Northern transpennine modernized as seen in TSC.
