Hey people, I am having issues with installing the unofficial editor for TSW3 (but I believe it also works with TSW4). the official but still in Beta Editor from DTG has issues with disappearing assets and inability to cook which makes me chose to switch "back" to the unofficial editor. Now the trouble is that whenever I finish extracting and combining the two .rar parts, the editor for some reason crashes within the progress of loading. I don't know why it happens. Any help would be appreciated.

Might consider asking in the "PC Editor" forum ;)

ain't that for the official editor only? that's why I thought putting it here is better.

I had that a month ago when I needed the unofficial Editor for unpaking a DLC, but can't quite remember what the solution was.

    Edit:
Now after reading the instructions, I think the problem was related to open the Editor with the uproject file. What's happening if you launch the Editor without opening the uproject file?

    Launching The Editor#
If you already have a version of the UE4 editor installed the .uproject file should be recognised (located in the TS2Prototype folder) and this can be used to open the editor.

If you cannot open TS2Prototype.uproject, Launch: Engine\Binaries\Win64\UE4Editor.exe then open the TS2Prototype project from there.

launching the editor without the .uproject file just yeets me to the main menu where my projects are listed.
I now tried it with the .uproject file via UE4Editor.exe and it first initialized, then went to "loading" up to 86% then asked me to mount pak files which I did, then it loaded up to 91% and then crashed with the error line
    Code:
Assertion failed: FrozenContentSize >= ContentTypeLayout.Size [File:C:/TSWEditor/UnrealEngine/Engine/Source/Runtime/RenderCore/Private/ShaderMap.cpp] [Line: 197] Invalid FrozenContentSize for FMaterialShaderMapContent, got 8, expected at least 584

Hmm... Could be that I had that, too. Don't know. I abandoned the unofficial Editor soon thereafter. I just needed it for the unpaking. Maybe the unofficial Editor is not supported with TSW4 anymore then?

Anyone here which can proof that's true or wrong?

By the way, I think the unofficial Editor was released at TSW2 times. Maybe the core and installation files changed since then a bit?

appears this whole time core pak mounting was the issue. but does it mean I can not use game content in the unofficial editor now?

Seems so. Maybe you can try it with an installation of TSW2 and download a few DLCs to it to see if it works then.

I unfortunately don't have TSW2 anymore (I once bought it but my game ran so bad on an office PC I had back then so I refunded it even though it was on sale for just 5 bucks). best I got is TSW3, and the unofficial editor is made for TSW3 too though. maybe I can install TSW3 and try again with that version.
