Ouch. How is this acceptable?
Since this hasn't been fixed in two years I'm starting to doubt they'll fix the WCML either. If DTG doesn't get around to fixing either of these hopefully a modder will.
The fact there hasn't been a fix in two years should not mean the customer should reduce their expectations. What it means is that DTG should pull their finger out and provide the fix they said they would.
in tsw 2 maybe. its in production now.
TSW2 does not have routes much longer than about 60 km/40 miles - unlikely to have a TGV
Have you not seen the roadmaps? They're working on Avignon-Marseille with the TGV Duplex for TSW 2.
I don't play TSW 2 - why should I look at the Roadmap?
Ah fair enough then. But why saying something's unlikely when they've said they're working on it and you have not look at what they've announced? Just saying...
quick question ya got new info? Just asking
It was not me that said it was unlikely to be fixed
longest route right now is ice koln aachen with 70km. or maybe csx sand patch. so TGV will be the longest with 100km
last i write cuz u dont play tsw 2
I was talking about what you said about having a TGV in TSW 2...
Any update onto the date the patch will be released? Given it has been promised, my expectations are that it will be coming.
Chasing once again for a reply. It's pretty disappointing that DTG now ignore a thread because they can't be bothered to reply...
No update on this currently, will raise this with the team.
Hopefully it doesn't stay silent then for more then a year as it was previous. The update was done, said by DTG Steve, only 'translation'. But my mind still can't get it right, why does a physical model change (pantograph) get stuck in 'translation'?
Mate, isn't the original 3rd party dev who built this now doing something for TSW2 for you guys?
If so, it's a 10 minute job to fix the paragraph height in 3ds, can you chase this please Jamie and find out why this is even ongoing? Cheers bud.
Reppo studios?? it would have been mentioned in the roadmap. Only known 3rd party devs for now for tsw2 are Rivet games and Skyhook games.
Been over a week, what's the status?
I really believe that this issue has been abandoned and will never come to fruition. No sense in me spending more time on this thread. I don't even think the people who "promised" a fix are still working there.
Except this is Train Simulator 2021 and NOT TSW2
I agree, sadly it does look like there's no intention to fix this. And it's shameful, the company should be embarassed! I don't, however, believe it's the case that the developers involved with the original model creation have 'left the building'. And even if they had, it shouldn't really matter, surely any artist/developer with a basic understanding of modelling in T.S. should still be able to fix such a bug. And to do so very quickly; as Dunkrez has pointed out, in theory it should be a very quick tweak indeed. However, 2 years+ and still waiting,
And this is the huge frustration for the Train Sim community, who would rapidly fix it if they could [they'd likely have it done the same-day!]. As they do for so many other common TS game bugs (i.e. missing/glitched liveries, FPS problems through inappropriate asset LOD, general route snags, broken scenarios etc..). But for this tweak, [I may be wrong] but believe it requires the source code of the model to be able make the needed adjustments. So we're absolutely dependent on DTG for this particular fix. That makes this one even more frustrating.
I'm honestly beginning to wonder whether perhaps somehow they've lost the source code files - because otherwise I just can't see any good reason why it can't be quickly corrected. Do they really expect the TS community to have to lower the track for the whole (monster sized) French route, to make the panto the appear the 'right' height? Because as far as I'm aware that would be the only option available to the community for a horrible fudge workaround - one which would clearly be pretty daft to entertain (let alone actually do).
I don't know what it is about pantographs, but DTG seem to have a real problem this modelling feature. The Virgin 390 pantos on the AI models still broken a couple of years after release (they still drive with both pantos down) - immediately pointed out by many players on initial release of the DLC. After all this time still unfixed, and that was despite a senior developer on this very forum board repeatedly indicating they were on the case and it would be fixed. Of course the pantographs on the 'new' Avanti West Coast Class 390 also are currently broken (neither raise on the actual player train, as well as the AIs).
Is that good enough?? I hear the new official mantra prepare to be disappointed ringing in my ears. Personally, I don't think it's much of a marketing strapline!
Another two weeks, another two weeks of DTG demonstrating their customer service approach...
This thread is very instructive. I don't believe DTG or Reppo had any intention of correcting this DLC. Steve's answer was just a lie, playing for time.
I'm still waiting for this DLC to be on sale at 75-80% to perhaps buy the buggy mess, but it never goes lower than 50%, so I won't get it (unless it's fixed, of course ... which I have zero hope to see).
Seeing how this went for two years with still no solution on sight, I'll also postpone my eventual buying of the TSW 2 TGV Marseille-Avignon route, as I expect it to be full of the same bugs as the TS20XX version (for example, the power cars working indifferently with the tension selected to either 5000 kV or 25000 kV on both Hi speed line and normal line).
HELLO??? Anyone home??
Please can we have an update on the promised patch for this. Or is this a TSW Bakerloo TT, and just another meaningless and broken promise.
I eventually purchased this set in a Sale because of the repaints available on Rail-Sim.de and other sites
And on 25Kv the rear pantograph is raised so you don't notice the incorrect height
We are planning an update for this and will have more news to share in the New Year.
I will treat this news with a large pinch of Salt.
We have heard it a number of times before from other DTG Staff
Sorry to be a grouch, but this statement means nothing after all the similar statements that have been made. :-( I understand it was made by different staff members and can only hope that this time you guys are able to do the repairs. I held off buying the new TSW version because I can't get rid of the bitter taste from this version.
I don't know what to say honestly, this is just mind-blowing.
2 years with promises there will be an update and today, at the end of 2020 still nothing. For a company that big, this is just ridiculous and a good example of how DTG really treat their clients..
This is crazy. And sad.
I suspect that the mind of one man is behind each and every one of these incidents.
Another week, another week of nothing...
Sorry for the delay in replying. The studio is just getting back to full speed after the break so I was waiting for the most accurate information I could get.
The good news is that there is an update in development for this loco pack. I don't yet have full details about what it contains, but it is definitely happening. We're not expecting it to be complete immediately, but the wait should not be much longer.
As soon as I have any more information I'll let you know.
An update was already made and in testing in early 2019, 2 years ago.
So hopefully it is finally ready.
The last update we heared was from the previous community manager Dmitri with "very soon".
It was a localisation issue, but I never understood what a Geometric shape fix has to do with localisation.
I will not get my hopes up until something is actually released. It's been two years of statements and I see no reason to believe this is any different.
Nudge for an Update to this DTG Jamie
Two years, one month, one week... nothing. I could not bring myself to purchase the new TSW2 version knowing this one is still sitting here unresolved.
Another week passes...
another day another dollar
Guys do you really thinks after all these years they will patch it ? Even some recent DLCs for TSW they’re not bothered to do so so don’t get your hopes up. It’s DTG being DTG
Read post #137
I dit it but it’s not the first time they’ve said that the team is looking into it and that a patch is coming soon
There has been no update since this one can you provide any further details.
No I don't think they will. But I'll keep banging on about it for as long as I can.
If they are not planning to fix it, I think it is better they never said a word. Instead, they have provided what amounts to empty promises time and time again. I have no reason whatsoever to believe that they are planning to fix this.
Another week goes by DTG Jamie with no information as to what is happening
