Interesting development the Romanian loco EA692 is now available on Steam. Since there is really no route to drive this on wonder if we will see Romanian routes on Steam. There are very nice Romanian routes out there. https://store.steampowered.com/app/2662520/Train_Simulator_EA692/
Wouldn't a link to that article be more helpful than a rebuke? https://forums.dovetailgames.com/threads/railfan-tv-stream-15th-anniversary.82097/
Don't worry, missed the live article discussion. BTW this is the right link: https://forums.dovetailgames.com/threads/romanian-icon-arrives.82136/ Interesting development though...
Those on the RailStudio website: Brasov-Ploiesti Sud £40 approx 110km Deda - Toplita £20 approx 50km Valea Oltului Mega pack £40 approx 300km Balota - Orsova - Caransebees £35 approx 100km Baragan Mega Pack £20 approx 120km (i have commented on this route (with photos) on the other thread). https://railstudios.com/dtg-train-simulator/
If they come on Steam I might be interested, but £40 for a route is pushing what I would spend particularly from a relatively unknown overseas enterprise. The loco looks nice though and guess it could be used with a bit of licence on any German or Austrian route.
There are a few nice freeware routes: F.e. on https://railmarkt.com/ Also one on Train Motion website.
Most assets come in the so called Romanian Asset pack which is huge. ( 5 installations) All Romanian routes use this pack. Additional a few assets (infrastructure assets) from Railstudio must be installed. https://railstudios.com/ So not much hunting. Also lots of freeware rolling stock on Railstudio available
The routes are ok but its a bit of a plod on some of them If you are thinking of a particular route find a YouTube video to give you an idea of what they are like I got this 477-692 when it was released but I don't like it as much as the other one from Rail Studio If has a lot of features I don't like Drive a BR Class 86EP thru a Neutral section without shutting off and the breaker trips Like in real life. Drive the EA-692 thru a Neutral Section without shutting off and tripping the main switch - Breaker trips and Game Over. Rather poor to me as you need to be able to spot the Neutral Sections on the Romanian routes.
mindenjohn Many thanks for the routes info buddy. 300km route sounds like my kind of thing. Thanks again.
One of the first Romanian routes I got was Bucharesti - Ploisti which is a busy mainline in real life but only 70 is kms
You can try this free route before buying https://train-motion.com/product/dej-calatori-beclean-pe-somes/
