On an early morning in the 2000's, a pair of Union Pacific locos come to the assistance of a stalled BNSF train on Tehachapi Pass. The train stalled as the CSX AC6000CW in the consist broke down. Based heavily on an IRL scene from 2004 Route: Tehachapi Pass: Mojave - Bakersfield Locomotives: GE AC4400CW, EMD SD70M, GE C40-8W, GE ES44DC, GE AC6000CW
This is a rescue run I personally experienced. It's early September 1988, and I'm on the Southwest Chief from Chicago to Los Angeles. After flash floods knocked out the signalling at Kansas, one of the F40PHs failed and an ATSF SD45-2 had to be pressed into service to make up power, but being speed limited the train progressively lost even more time, the crew went over-hours and relief crews had to be bussed into the middle of nowhere to make their changes. We arrived about 18 hours late. ATSF SD45-2 and Amtrak F40PH on the Raton Pass route.
A failed TEE DB BR103 unit is recovered by 361 254-6 as BR218 100-6 waits to collect the remainder of the train. Locos:- DB BR361, DB BR103, DB BR218 Route:- Hamburg - Hanover
Yes it most certainly is, as was my winning Christmas shot, as IronBladder says it is not against the rules. My current TSC setup uses enhancements that would disqualify me from this thread so am having to rely on pre-enhancement screenshots. With only 2 shots currently being offered I thought a 3rd option, even though it has been seen before, might entice a few more entries from other participants.
It's all good to enter again. Maybe not with a winning shot, would be awkward to win twice. I absolutely plan to enter, just having a slow time with TSC. Plus the scenario takes a wee bit more time than expected.
DB BR 218 picking up the broken DB BR 111 with a passenger train at Hattinger Tunnel on Konstanz-Villingen route. The Br 111 runs with the pantograph up so it can ventilate the engines so they do not get dirty and needs very expensive repair.
DB Br 118 013-2 have picked upp the brokendown DB Br 118 010-8 on a late evening when everyone on the train just want to get home and relax/sleep on Ruhr Sieg Line route. On the side stands DB Br 290 722-4 and waiting for next shunting mission early next morning.
This is scenario "1 Standby Duty" from "Mighty Seddin" where you have to go to retrieve a train from a loco which has caught fire. BR 232 and BR 143, Mighty Seddin route.
Got busy with other things - stupid new year's eve, right - so here is just a shot from the test run of the scenario. Might replace if I run it tomorrow, also not sure whether it runs until 2nd (Tuesday) or 8th (Monday). Scenario is inspired by Don Coffey's latest, a route learning run with a green 47, mentioning how easily it handles an attached set of 158. Trains: Class 158 TPE (TransPennine Express), Class 47 BR Green Route: Settle to Carlisle Edit: Not replacing this, after all. The editor is crashing, crashing, crashing, crashing and crashing. Please let Steve know that they are still underwater without oxygen.
Some Brilliant Rescue Runs, well done everyone. This weeks winner with this interesting shot of a 143 having a fire put out is WhippleStripper , congratulations! Have a great week everyone. And the start of the 2024 contests : https://forums.dovetailgames.com/threads/tsc-screenshot-contest-january-2024-week-01.77626/
