Tsc - Taurus Mountains Coming Soon

This is giving me some Midland Line vibes, and that's a very good vibe to be getting.

The engine itself in particular looks pretty accurate based on the images provided of the actual locomotive in the manual. Also seems to have plenty of systems depth to it, really nice to see especially considering this is included with a route, not a dedicated loco DLC. The route itself has lots of scenery placed as well, does make me concerned about if it will stutter like Midland, but also mean it looks rather nice. Really like how there's all sorts of plants at all the stations, makes them feel much more lived in than most TSC routes.

Ain't judging the route till I see more, but first impressions are making me hopeful for something good here.

If the screenshots in the manual are typical of what's actually delivered, then this will be a great route. Some of the rock formations look the most realistic yet in TSC.

Wow, I haven't bought any new TSC route in a while, as I'm mostly playing TSW, but this looks like I have to make an axception.

Yes, but we do not intend to do another route work for TSC. Perhaps we can extend the Taurus Mountains route to two big cities, Adana and Mersin with electrification.

Apart from this, we want to work on Train Sim World series in the upcoming period. If we're going to build an electrified modern route from scratch, it should be in TSW.

I would ask you to rethink that. Both games have their advantages for different methods of play. In my view, TSC is the better game. I will eventually do some TSW stuff, but on my YouTube channel, I mostly focus on TSC.

Given the recent manual lengths, what would you change?

 

This looks genuinely awesome. No listing on Steam yet but even if it's £30 I shall have no hesitation paying that vs. the same amount being asked for the TSW Birmingham Cross City route.

 

I will be fair about one point; most pages of the manual seem to have two images on them. The history bit I would expect to be some text about the route, but it seems to be paragraph, picture, paragraph, picture...so the constant pictures bloat out the manual a little bit. If someone has bought the route already, they don't necessarily need to be sold on the route if reading a manual about the route. So that could be an improvement on it to shrink it down a little bit.

 

But there is a much shortened version of the manual you can download, has all the details you need for driving the thing plus there is a map of the route too?

 

That is called a Quick Start Guide.

I don't think routes for TSC have a pre-order thing, most usually go up a week after their 1st article, with a small discount from regular price.

In the next period, we plan to work for TSW as well. But at the moment, we thought it more appropriate to introduce the Taurus Mountains route and the DE 24000s to people first, and to draw a road plan based on the feedbacks.

 

Do you guys actually have a deal with DTG already to work for TSW, or are these just hopeful plans on your end? Seems weird that they would let you announce it before them, as they are usually really quiet about these partnershups unless they are 100% sure something is coming. But in either case, I bet it would be awesome to see your work in TSW.

As for this route, it looks pretty good. Love the atmosphere. How is the performance? I did see some stuttering in the preview stream at certain places, but couldn't decide if it was the game or just the stream quality.

 

Hopeful plans for now. It will depend on how much positive feedback we will receive from the community. TSW is the future of train simulations and we don't want to miss that train (pun intended )
Thanks for your kind words for our work. Stutters are common for TS series but we really worked hard to keep them minimum despite our high level of details. I didn't know the specification of Jamie's computer for the stream, but playing and streaming a game at the same time really needs some resources. I can say minimum of GTX 1070 graphic cards, 4-6 core not too old cpu and especially fast ssd/m2 drives & 8 gigs of RAM will be sufficient for medium-high graphic settings.
Systems with RTX xxxx series cards and 8-10 core cpus / 16+ GB RAM will benefit more of course.
Also loweting the scenery density value is highly recommended for Taurus Mountains as it will give you a mean performance boost.

 

You can tell how much care was put into this. Looks like a lot of custom assets instead of lazily copy-pasted ones. Loving how it's turned out thus far.

 

Thank you very much. Yes, we spent a lot of time creating the custom content and diversity. I am an amateur photographer and even in the games I usually observe my environment sometimes instead of playing and this is the thing that creates the real feelings about that game. I wanted to create a living world with all the objects that I have, especially the flora and sounds could make a difference if they can be used cleverly. I hope everyone would appreciate our work like you when they drive in it. Thanks again.

 

By the way, I would like to share with you 2 videos that we recorded with the real DE 24000 during one of my trips in 2012. (I'm driving the train.) I hope we were able to convey that atmosphere in the simulator as well.

 

If that sound has been captured correctly in game, we are in for a real treat. Sounds similar to the much loved Greek Alco's or the small Sulzer locos we had at one time in the UK.

Can't wait for 1800 this evening and am going to be dividing my time between this and Birmingham Cross City in TSW (though I have a feeling where most of my time will be spent!).

 

It's on the Steam store now, £24.99 so cheaper than the latest TSW DLC. Just purchased but won't be able to play for an hour or two yet.

How come no Career scenarios?

 

Since there was a problem in the scoring database of Career scenarios, we had to convert those scenarios to Standard scenarios. This is a temporary situation, they will be made into Career scenarios again after somehow fixing the problem.

Their own routes actually do. Seen it for the last two.

Same problem with Huddersfield, sort of. Got scores, no achievements or XP.

 

As mentioned in the other thread, I think showing the track speed as 110 km/ which is how it appears in the HUD etc is going to confuse a lot of users when the actual speed is shown much lower in the Timetable. What's the chance of reworking the actual track speeds to show the correct maximum speed?

Then also as mentioned the engine idle speed seems a bit loud and drowns out the ambient track sound. Also doesn't appear to be fading out when traction power applied.

Other than that, all good with the route itself and modelling of the locomotive and rolling stock.

 

can we do Quick drive with this route because i dont do Scenarios as i hate the points system with TSC always have always will to take points away in my eyes is wrong i never been about the points anyway as u dont get points in real life driving trains or being in them

 

Thanks for the feedback. We are definitely going to work on the track speeds and try to define max allowed timetable speeds to every scenario without breaking the AI and train meets.

Could you elaborate a little more on the sound issue? Some users do not have EFX selected in the sound settings, so the outside sounds and the inside of the cabin sound are the same. I guess that's not what you mean, right?

 

Yes, there are Quick Drive scenarios and Free Roam scenarios as well.
