Does anyone have a good guess for the upcoming locos from TSG and Simtrack?

I think that the 232 might be the one from TSG, but what loco comes from Simtrack?

I’d wager the Simtrak loco is going to be another 420 scenario, in that we won’t see it for years. Probably wouldn’t get too excited for it considering the long delayed PFR pack.

TSG is likely the 232, though I believe there was also some muttering about another pro loco.

My guess is as good as any but I would not think the TSG loco will be the 232. The older among us might remember, both the DB 420 and the DB 232 were on the roadmap until November 2021 (see here: https://live.dovetailgames.com/live/train-sim-world/articles/article/tsw2-roadmap-30-november-2021)

If the "unannounced new German Loco pack" in the March 2025 roadmap were the DB 232 it would seem a bit odd to me to handle these two so differently. The Roadmap article says the "DB BR 420 from TSG returns to the roadmap". Technically the same would apply for the 232 as it was on the roadmap before so why call it "unannounced".

Of course it still can be the case but i dont think so. My guess (actually my hope) would be the DB 140 (maybe as an Expert model).

Tsg did say the 232 is not their priority or something along those lines. Maik was discussing it in another thread so don't expect it to come anytime soon.

The loco pack might be reskins or variants because I don't think the tsg team to make multiple brand new locos for the price of 1 or whatever price they are choosing. They did say there are working on another expert loco but it can't be that either

Maybe the TSG Loco Pack is something for Left Rhine?
Lukas said he wanted to do some kind of a Gameplay Pack for this Route in the Mittenwaldbahn Stream with Train Sim Play.

As Fahrgast said I also expect it to be a backdated loco pack for LFR or maybe MITT

As for SimTrack all I know is the 104 is still an active project but no release date decided yet.

I hope it will be a BR140 for LFR.

TSG's new loco is most likely the BR 232. Just six days ago, they said on their Facebook that if everything goes well, the 232 will be released this year.

I mean, they can still surprise us with something completely new, but as we're also getting the long awaited 420, it makes a lot of sense for TSG to finally release their longest running projects.

As already teased by TSG the loco pack most likely wont be the 232. It most likely is a pack of new versions of locos we already have.
Like instead of a 1020 well get a E94, a backdated 218 and maybe a new 110 or 143 both backdated too. Maybe new cargo wagons also.
It is very unlikely that this one will be completely new loco as it is a Loco pack which by the name tells its going into a gameplaypack direction.
Simtrack seems to either be working extremely slow or they are making a loco not fitting one of the route we have and to announce the loco it would spoil what route we will get in the future.

A bit absurd Simtrack announcing a new loco when the Class 104 still seems to be in development hell, with still nothing more than a screen dump from the 3D modelling package to show for it. And more fool on DTG for actually adding it to the Roadmap!

What new loco have Simtrack supposedly announced? I don't see anything new from them on the roadmap. Their "DE Loco" has been on the roadmap for over a year now.

The discussion was about an "upcoming" loco, not a "newly announced" one.

For the TSG German Loco pack, I would expect it to be related to the BR 218. When this one was released some (including me), complained about the missing delivery for era V for Niedertalbahn, a route when this loco was part of the timetable, not only in Era V, but also in Era VI. So we could have a pack with BR 218 and N-wagen and a new time table so the BR 218 replaces the BR 628 in the Rush Hours.

This would be an instant buy for me.

Now with Mittelwaldbahn, we could potentially have deliveries for the Era IV (beige Blue), but I see this less likely, as I see only the loco here as AI layer.

What about the DE loco from Simtrack, what could that be? 120, 140 or 151?

140 or 151 would be possible, and I would be very happy about that. But what would you think of the idea of a class 52? This would possibly justify the long production time and a steam locomotive has already been seen in TSW content on one or two occasions that looks similar to a 52

I doubt the new TSG announcement is the 232 as the roadmap would just say so then (cf. return of the 420 on the roadmap). It wouldn’t surprise me if it’s the possible loco DLC for Mittenwaldbahn Lukas talked about. I doubt it’s already the new Expert loco. That one will probably need a long time in development before we see an announcement.

For those who skipped over it in April's roadmap, Simtrack are gone
    • Removed BR Class 104 & Peak Forest Expansion Pack (Simtrack Studios)
    • Removed Unannounced DE Loco (Simtrack Studios)
-edit- The DTL article was slightly edited after I originally posted); Simtrack are not gone, their projects are just temporarily removed from the roadmap to manage expectations

"Both of these add-ons from Simtrack Studios continue to progress through development, however, we want to manage expectations with the community who are waiting for news on these add-ons."
Might be important to add the sentence right below these two points as well.

I know I said this is another thread but how have we managed to go from 1-3 months on the 104 to well over a year now? Why was it even announced if it's derailed so badly or was so far away and still is?

I'm just a bit disappointed really especially as this was something so many were looking forward too.

It’ll probably come out eventually, like the 420. Just won’t expect it until TSW7.:o
