Xbox One Tsw®5: London Overground Mildmay Line: Random Spawn Location With Train

I figured I would do a few of these REAL short services, I got one done,
as the images show, the service in question is a bust, forever spawning
on foot at random stations.

With each Restart, I ended up at a random station.

Before I could take another Screenshot, I Completed the service with a Gold Medal and never having driven the train.

 

This same thing happened to me on one of the shorter services between Highbury & Islington and Canonbury, I route hopped to the correct station and completed the service. However I do hope this issue is fixed soon.

 

I guess that is one way of doing it. I do appreciate the reply and suggestion, We should not have to do this.
Ironically, this route was just released, and the same type of issue is still present with the SEHS full version service 6Y71 with class 66.

 

This happens to me on steam. (Early short 7am services).

 

I am starting to wonder if this is a core game issue somehow. There are just too many of these services bugged like this.

 

I believe I know the cause.

When a service is loaded, the game is trying to put you in a certain train, at a specific location at a specific time. I’m going to use 2C02 as the example. So for this service the game is expecting the train to be at the platform stopping point at Canonbury platform 1 at 5:33:56. You load up the service and you get spawned in a random place. If you are quick enough to open the map and zoom in on Canonbury platform 1, you will see your train there (using the star or information when you put the dot over the train). However it starts to move forward to the end of the platform and stop. The game loads you in at 5:33:56, however the train doesn’t arrive at the stopping point for Canonbury platform 1 until 5:34:12. So therefore, the game cannot find the train at 5:33:56 as it’s not where it’s expecting it to be so it just loads you anywhere on foot.

From watching many roadmaps it seems DTGs auto testing only makes sure the game loads properly for each service and not whether it loads you into the driving seat of a train or not.

As mentioned above, with the introduction of train information on the map and fast travel for TSW5, its quite easy to find the train you should be on and travel to it and hop in the cab.

It’s not ideal and we shouldn’t have to go train hunting but it is a workaround for something that was first found on a couple of SEHS freight services. Bremen-Oldenburg also suffers hugely with this problem and as it’s been going on for so long, I doubt it will ever be fixed.

(PS completely unrelated but on 2C02 signal EL326 cannot show double yellows so therefore remains red but you can pass it with out failure, I’m on Xbox series X btw)

 

That is interesting. And a bit of detective work ya did there, I will give this a try and look see, and see what happens on XB1X.
