The amount of feedback being raised for TSW 4 relating to quite a wide array of issues is already starting to concern me. These issues will either require DTG to work really hard to get everything fixed, or they’re never going to fix them like in previous versions. I’m not very hopeful of the former given DTG’s track record
I’ve barely run into many issues on series x, the game in my opinion from what I’ve seen is in a strong position.
I’ve raised several issues (PS5) and have only really played ECML up to now. Not all issues are game-breaking, but they’re issues nonetheless. Things like no Platinum medals on ECML, gold medals not showing as earned in profile. PS5 controller playing no sound. Unable to turn off track monitor. Barely audible narrator on route introductions and more besides.
I understand their issues, but mostly just the controller seems of higher concern tbh, most of what you’ve listed isn’t an issue on the console I’ve played for me, and ECML is the exact route I’ve done since release. Most of the issues seem quite minor so i wouldn’t say they equal a concern for the sake of TSW type thing. - platinum medals show (seen them when doing journey mode) -medals recorded of the routes currently available, U.K. assuming the missing ones will show when my other dlc is installed -narrator talks at quite a high volume (all audio settings is up) their is subtitles if you particularly struggle to hear them. -no track monitor won’t turn off but Matt said he will look into it.
The narrator is definitely not loud on PS5. All settings 100%. Could barely hear him over the music and Azuma diesel engine (that shouldn’t be running as it’s for emergency use only). AI Azuma’s all seem to have their diesel engines running and both head and tail lights lit up at the same time.
I see, not sure on engine for me on Azuma I haven’t checked, but I’ve definitely seen headlights, taillights and passenger lights are on though PIS is a hit and miss
Worth noting that PS5 is on the wrong build at the moment. JD raised it on Thursday, but looks like we’re waiting for the correct build to hit us.
Sure I'm not underestimating the amount of work it will cost but it's not of the sorts that playing TSW becomes annoying. I'm glad Dresden was upgraded because it reminded me of how annoying this game could be. I almost exploded in a tantrum but then the red light that refused to go green in TSW2 went green after all. I remember this game used to test my nerves on Dresden but none of that in TSW4. For a DTG release this already feels really good. This release doesn't feel like a dumpster fire so to me it seems there is less to fix so fixes could come earlier this time. On the controller side of things there is still a lot of room for improvement on PS5 but it's already a good start. And we are yet on the wrong build so I'm still positive for fixes
Just to clarify, I checked with the team, and the build number is correct on ECML. Everything is up-to-date at this stage.
There are issues but all the ones I have encountered have been minor, annoying niggles and the bigger ones such as Azuma sound are being worked on. Overall as I seem to have said a lot this [ECML] is a very well built route.
Odd, so why is it different to the other platforms? The staff door is grey for example, where as I know on PC it’s correctly coloured. Along with having the old scoring system too? Basically pretty much all the issues above are either worse than, or don’t exist on the other platforms.
I can't hear any audible warnings on controller on 100% unless bear to my ear. Take controller sound off better for alerts by still quiet. Ni external audible alerts.. only played ecml myself but can't get it ti recognise safety systems on still just get 30 points instead if 65. I tried looking at the streams to see if i wasnt setting up correctly [which vould be true] but Matt uses keyboard shortvuts so i cant ses if any steps im misding out. Maybe nice to gave a stream were matt demos using the train button switches keys etc?...So cant get higher than gold tried journey mode and timetable. Like the light bar signal. Vibration at the moment is a fad all vibrations are exactly the same and the intensity bar could just as well be turned to on or off as its the same from 30% onwards ir not at all less than that. Like track joint vibrations others just seem annoying. Maybe my opinion. Maybe better if slightly varied rumble affect for duffrrent aspects? Liking the route. Some strange npc actions like dropping down from the stairwell in a station. Spooky ghost affect....
I reckon DTG Towers is going to be a busy busy hive of activity tomorrow following all the feedback from the early access players.
On this new text dialogue box they spelled a word wrong in the first sentence and missed a word in the second.
I can't hear the warnings on the Azuma and consequently keep getting TPWS/AWS emergency stops. It's infuriating!
Can confirm I've encountered AI on diesel engines on PC (Steam platform). Was streaming as it happened and I couldn't really believe my ears lol.
Anything further on this? I’ve re-downloaded & still got PS version 1.007.000. In game build number is 379. it is definitely different to other platforms, it doesn’t even have the new scoring system, only bronze to gold as per the old system. Let alone all the other issues that PS seems to be having, something isn’t right.
Is that Scoring issue on all routes, or just one? We have an updated build coming soon anyway, so hoping it will equalise out and everyone will have the same experience by launch tomorrow anyway.
u got to release a day 1 patch simple also we like to know whats going on with the so called updated timetable for the NEC NY - Trenton thank you JD
Guys Please i need an answer, how is the performance of TSW4 in PS5 console?? is there still any lag or stutter?? Especially when entering station or scene with a lot of building and other detail.. or its getting bettter? I need the answer before i buy.. i dont want to regret it
My main gripe (on PS5) is how once again, trophy support has been shafted. What the hell is "Scenario A".... does that mean the first one? But what if the first one I encounter on the journey mode isn't the first one in the scenario list? What if it is!? Does that mean that trophy hasn't popped.... leaves a lot open for speculation IMO, too much.
So I had early access to TSW4 - I bought the relevant edition - despite saying I would wait for the reviews and forum feedback. In the end I couldn’t help myself. Thus far I have only driven the ECML in an 801 and had one issue overall - the level of the sound in the cab, especially the AWS ding and alarm. I couldn’t hear it, but it was perfectly loud outside the cab! After a few busy days, I got to have another drive again this evening. I noted a new version of TSW and a new version of ECML have downloaded onto my PS5. I have been a vocal critic of TSW and DTG, with all the issues in the past, including stuff never getting fixed It’s only fair therefore, that I give praise and thanks where it is due. And I believe it is due here, in spades. The audio issues have been fixed, and I have had a thoroughly enjoyable drive up to Doncaster. The game is smooth, the smoothest I can remember, no stuttering or lagging, the scenery draws sufficiently far ahead that I am for the first time, fully immersed Sure, I’m not a fan of the haptic controller feedback on track joints, and have turned that off. Others will love it. The HUD could do with a little work, which Matt has stated is being considered. But overall I’m delighted with the upgrade to TSW4. I hope I don’t come to regret those words, but it’s how I feel right now Some, including me, might say that the game should have reached this standard before now. Quite so. But it was what it was, and is what it is. Which is a delight, a pleasure to load up and drive a train, completely immersed. Utilising the PS5 controller speaker has been game changing for me. I have cranked up the warnings volume on controller speaker to 100% and can hear the AWS each time it sounds DTG Matt and team DTG and everyone involved: this is a whole new level of Train Sim World. Thanks for doing such a great job. Keep up the good work. You’ve made this old train nut very, very happy. Cheers
As far as I can tell the online sharing hub on ps5 is not registering any required routes as being owned. It's showing them as being owned but not acknowledging this fact so therefore rendering this service unusable as far as I can make out. It states the content as missing yet has a green tick by said content.
Hi Ben - I believe we pushed an update resolving this earlier this evening (might take a little while to get to you). You can use the website (whilst logged into your DTL account), if you need: https://creatorsclub.dovetailgames.com/
Am I incorrect in thinking the scenario planner 2.0 allows the ability to set a timetable?? Perhaps I am confused or perhaps slightly mislead in my assumptions that this is the case?? Please clarify this...
The work you have all done on it is impressive it feels like a more complete immersive experience. I particularly like using the new hub options it adds to the authentic feel of the game.
My biggest thing is getting all previous DLCs for the new game. Select download and on most DLC it downloads TSW2 version PS4, TSW3 version PS4 and PS5 and TSW4 version PS4 and PS5. There are some DLC where there are 4x downloads of the same route. I am dreading TSW5 since then there will be 5x downloads of the same route, TSW10 there will be 10x of the same downloads per DLC lol. It's constantly going back and forth and cancelling and deleting. I am aware that this could partly be Sony but surely there has to be a better way? Otherwise now that all is installed, a whopping 228GB of it (realise I must have an issue if I have purchased every single DLC) and despite the long load time initially I am very impressed with the 3x new routes.
There is an issue which I think needs addressing where the train camera doesn't consistently switch between camera view when clicking r3. It does eventually but sometimes it needs to be pressed a few times before it works. It has happened now on Peterborough - Don and GWE I'd imagine it's a general issue that needs looking at, This is on pS5, thanks
Not sure if it helps but when i started a service on previous TSW 3 routes they popped then. Must admit I only tried SEHS and Luzern.
Ok thanks I'll give that a try. As yet I've played 4 and 2 routes. I guess if this doesn't work it's something that will be ironed out in coming weeks. I know a couple of issues at least have been dealt with since release. To be fair with simulation games like this there's always going to be a handful of issues. Were lucky in a sense there's such a dedicated community disparity aside to help reinforce the weak points. I had the same experience moving over from 2 to 3...It's definatly better this time around.
Update to previous issue/comment. Since the ecml update the sound issues I was having have been corrected and seem louder especially from the controller...aws vibration still not toggable as suggested in streams. Just seems on or off when you hit a certain percentage. But enjoying what I've experienced so far.
