I've been playing Train Sim World since Founders Edition in 2018, and have dutifully upgraded to TSW 2020, TSW 2, and TSW 3 over the years. I even bought TSW 2 twice, first on Xbox and then on Windows. I have not upgraded to TSW 4 because I haven't been interested in any of the TSW 4-only routes...until now. I've been eagerly following the development of the new Blackpool Branches route and would love to buy it today, at full price. But I don't want to also pay another $40 to upgrade to TSW 4. Are there any plans for a starter pack or TSW 4 Regional Edition that would include Blackpool Branches and the TSW 4 upgrade, like the existing UK, US, and Austrian bundles?
there is a so-called "Train Sim World® 4: Upgrade Pack" which is literally TSW4 only, but I don't think you can buy it yet. it is contained with regional editions, maybe you can wait until they put out the upgrade pack as a seperate digital product (should be between 15€ and 20€) or buy another regional edition and then Blackpool Branches with it
I am in the same situation as well. The Blackpool route looks great and I would love to get it, but no way I am buying TSW4 just for this one route, especially since the other core TSW4 routes seem pretty mediocre and old content is also full of issues in TSW4. If purchasing the route gave you access to TSW4 as a starter pack, then I would be in.
I would think there will be some offers soon for those that have not made the jump to TSW4. Steam autumn Sale starts next week. PSN winter sale is usually strong also around Christmas. No idea on Xbox though.
