With a few hours in, and most of the new trains driven (at least around the Training Center), I have to say that I am beyond impressed with what I have experienced thus far.

All of the routes feel alive, the level of detail is astonishingly high, the game is well-optimized, the sounds are loud, appropriate, and bold (as they right well should be), and the game is FUN.

There was CLEARLY a lot of hard work that went into producing this iteration of TSW, and it is readily apparent.

Morristown, thus far, has been the standout route for me. Perhaps it is because I am a New Yorker and love seeing my city represented and recreated (the skyline is GORGEOUS), but Morristown is truly a masterpiece. The route bears the same grittiness it has in real-life, the stations are well-crafted and dynamic, the scenery is breathtaking (so many buildings and additional assets), the AI trains are plentiful and logical, and like TSW6 in general, it is FUN to play.

Sure, there are a few bugs to work out - we’re only three days into early access, and this is to be expected; but Team DTG has demonstrated their commitment to fixing the bugs and listening to the community.

Team DTG - THANK YOU!!! Your hard work and tireless efforts have paid off, and TSW6 is truly a work of art that everyone in the office should feel good about.

I cannot wait to see what’s in store for TSW6, and am already eagerly anticipating MNR New Haven.

    Keep up the stellar work!!

    With Deep Gratitude,
    Chris

Fully agreed. There are issues in TSW 6 routes, and there are ongoing issues with TSW core.

But for the routes, there are mostly cosmetic, which are to be expected on such a big release. It is not the kind of issues we usually got in the 'core' routes (like underwhelming timetables).
On the contrary, all the routes are unique and beautifull. Also the Deluxe locos are exceptional, complementing the route experience.

Passenger announcements are well beyond I dared to hope for. The system looks to be extremely well flexible and the voices 100% feel 'region' correct.

I'm very impressed with Morristown ( the only route I've played so far ).

But I can't join the love fest while there are still so many issues that can potentially spoil the TSW experience.

The lack of multiple saves, the ( still ) strange behavior of passengers and the terrible user interface which gets worse with each iteration of the game. To name just three.

Until the QA works effectively, until the UI gets back to where it made sense, and until DTG halts this practice of sweeping existing bugs under the rug once a year, I'll have to forego the kissy face emoji for the time being I'm afraid.

I do really like the Riviera route so far from what I've seen and it's good to see that DTG and Even Rivet pulled their socks up for this one. We needed a strong UK route after CCN and WCMLS and I think it seems like we have got one. Although I haven't played it yet.

I do have to say I'm not sold on DTG listening to community and the communication though. It's something that has rather unfortunately been lacking more and more over the years. And we've had numerous things come up that we were told they were looking at that haven't come to fruition unfortunately and we haven't ever been told why that is. We just get the infuriating "No plans at the moment" even though it was something they said they were committed to working on. I do have to agree with Crosstie.

Don't get me wrong though this seems more of a step in the right direction. I just hope DTG and especially Rivet can follow this up and fix their issues this time around. :)

There are some teething problems with it so far but genuinely it's the best version yet! Really happy with how TSW6 turned out. :)

I'm not writing any love letters yet. However at least on PC, this is in my opinion the best route package yet.

I really enjoy the announcements, but random events and failures are clearly not finished and I've turned them off.

I'm very happy with my purchase and compared to WCMLS last year, Riviera is in a different league. But things are very far from perfect.

I agree with the OP. Yes, there are a few relatively minor issues, but I do not consider them something that needs me to throw my toys out of the cot! (Some of the autumn vegetation colour is a bit "off", but hey, this is a train simulator, not a climate/season simulator!)

I have had no issues with freezes or being able to get a decent fps consistently above 40 (usually quite a bit higher, even with my TSW 5 content) with all Settings maxed out (I make use of the "Lossless Scaling" App. plus several Engine.ini tweaks obtained after trial and error with TSW 4 and 5).

Edit: (I have been making use of Early-Access, on my Desktop PC via Steam, with my compatible TSW 5 content included)

Hey, thanks for your feedback! Glad to know you're enjoying the game so far, even with some of these hiccups still present! Bear in mind some of these bugs are still being worked on, so thank you for staying with us.

Count me in too! I think everyone at Dovetail, Rivet and everyone else who worked on this release and routes has done a pretty good job.

The Riviera route is great (and hopefully will be even better tomorrow when I can add a few more layers) the 802 is really fun to drive and the announcements add loads of atmosphere to the whole thing.

I did a run on the US route earlier and enjoyed that (definitely need a bit of practice though as my braking left a lot to be desired)

I've only done about 50% of a run on the German route so far but even that was pretty good despite me feeling a bit underwhelmed at the preview strram.

So, all in all I'm happy with 6 and the core routes and recommend them!

It would help if we had some idea in the various feedback threads what's being worked on as a priority or maybe not even seen as an issue at this point.

TSW6 is good but in truth as others have stated it's more like TSW5.5. Too many niggles both with the core, the new features and the routes to join the circle love fest just yet. Too much baggage still clinging from previous versions too, like the abandonment of steam traction.

Exactly, OldVern and the abandonment of US freight for the most part as well!

Why a response to this thread and not the ones raising issues?

Because unfortunately these days it's easier to type out a positive PR message than it is to engage with the community on issues which require honesty and transparency.
