Since there is an Xbox/Microsoft Store BOGO sale going on. My question is this which one of those are the better option? I own the following Caltrain San Francisco-San Jose without the MP15DC Hauptstrecke Rhein-Ruhr Expanded form Hollandstrecke Duisburg/Bochum-Oberhausen-Utrecht/Rotterdam from the TSW 2 Collectors edition. The DB BR 101 from HRR expanded form the HDBU loco DLC from this Sale which I got from a previous Xbox/MS Store Sale. Can anyone answer this for me to that I can make a purchase on this sale.

Have absolutely no clue about the advantages and disadvantages of those, but West Somerset Railway seems a good option because it's getting a free upgrade in the next months as I heard it. But completely depends on your preferences. That's why I didn't voted as well.

Just checking you realise that it would work out cheaper to buy the NTP and WSR routes together as then you are getting a full route free rather than just a loco pack. You could pick up the two loco packs either in a future sale or as a seperate BOGOF to save the most money.

It would currently cost £19.99 for 2 routes, then £11.99 for 2 loco packs, so £31.98 total rather than the £39.98 if you bought them as route plus loco.

Even if you never pick up the 2 loco packs I would recommend the 2 routes for £19.99 as you would get more variety out of owning 2 routes than 1 route plus 1 loco pack.

Not sure on your route preferences but if you can get NTP+Pack I would recommend that one, whilst it’s age is getting on it’s very much not a route I regret getting hold off. If it’s something of the style you like it’s one of the best options for it.

Nothing wrong with the other options, but NTP stands out here I think for what you get.

    edit: grammar

I can't speak for Peninsula Corridor, but I like Northern Transpennine as a route (and I don't even have the Heavy Freight Pack - apparently that makes it better!)

I considered getting the West Somerset Railway when I was choosing between NTP, TVL, and WSR at the time, but discounted WSR because I wanted to drive the Class 101. I settled for NTP because it had express passenger services, and TVL didn't (and at the time, I wasn't that bothered about freight).

If you haven't experienced a British Rail route yet, I would definitely recommend Northern Transpennine over the West Somerset Railway. However, I would also consider richtayls' advice (but make sure to consider in the frequency of Xbox sales).

NTP is still top five with the Heavy Freight pack after all these years. It is a great experience. WSR is also great after the upgrade, though can't say I am the biggest fan of Westerns, though I am not a fan of WR stuff at all really.

Ok then and from the Poll it's the Huddersfield Line with 90% of the votes for it. At least I can now play the Class 101 Daisy by getting experience from the TVL version. When I played it 3 years ago I overshot the station

yea it includes all the freight services for the route (and pretty sure the mail train aswell), i think it came with new at the time at least certain wagon/s or the like and you also get the Class 08 and Class 40 (with headlight and disk light variants) it’s quite a bit considering some packs.

I'd certainly echo the comments about NTP, even more so with the heavy freight. Even though it's an older route, it still holds it own.
There's something about climbing the Pennines in a 'singing' 45 that you don't get anywhere else in TSW, more so the double 40's and a rake of full tankers!
The 101 is certainly fun, it's added jeopardy with all the gradients that really test your braking skills or lack of them!!
WSR is also worth it, certainly with the recent update, but is a much slower 'chilled' pace route.
Depends what you want, a thrash through the hills of the Pennines or a winding route to the coast in Somerset.

you did buy it the right way, not searched it but used the Xbox console store menu for creating bundles ?

they were both listed for the sale

I do think the sale has ended now though.
