Please please please can you add more steam trains to TSW5 and especially some American ones like SP 4449 and Santa Fe 3751. These would be great add on to American routes like the Cajon Pass and San Bernardino line
It'd be great, Four months ago I thought they'd be plenty from 1880 to the 1950's to choose from. I can think of a dozen different locomotive's from the USA, Germany, France and England I'd love to have seen. Found out Steam is on permanent hold. Nothing more to say sadly.
Well it would be nice if DTG could reverse their decision and have another go at it. For the UK we are still waiting for the delights of the Somerset and Dorset, or Riviera Line from Exeter down to Kingswear. But they do need to get a grip on the physics and general loco management (as in actually consuming coal and water) if contemplating a revival.
Would definitely like to see some American steam, Australian steam, and German steam as well as some Garratts.
The thing is, DTG is so VERY guarded with the Simugraph that I honestly don't know of a third-party Dev team or company that would take on any new Steam Loco project. As I understand it, they would have to learn to work with it and what DTG did with the itsy bitsy steam we have here now. And no, there are no little yellow polka dot bikinis here either.

How steam to in the game at current needs work before adding more to be honest that will probably not happen so if a 3rd party is working on steam it's not going to have good steam machines
It would be cool to get a Cass Scenic RR route with Shays, Heislers, and Climaxes (or maybe a logging and/or mining route with the same locos). Another awesome idea would be an 1860s-1880s-era route with 4-4-0 Americans (preferably a UP/CP Transcontinental RR route). It would be amazing to recreate the Golden Spike Ceremony in game with UP #119 and CP Jupiter. A UP and/or CP 2-6-0 Mogul or 2-8-0 Consolidation would from that era would be cool to see on the route. Of course, we'd need freight and passenger rolling stock for the route.
If Steam Loco's and routes that have steam trains to make a comback is fist Dovetail needs to rebuilt the whole entire Steam Locomotive Physic's simulation in Simlugraph and also include a mode similar to conductor mode where the player can act as the driver or firemen.
