Here we go again. Ppl are mistakenly posting here on the TS forum when they want the TSW forum. Two threads have been blocked already today for that reason. Some are trying to be helpful by answering TSW questions here, but it would be more helpful to redirect or link them to the TSW forum in the first place. Always happens after the sales when newcomers get confused between the two.
Wouldn't this thread have been better off being posted in the General Discussion section of the forums?
This is why a rebrand would be a very good idea, since Train Sim World came out, people have been confused because Train Sim = Train Simulator. Heck, I've even seen people confuse MSTS and Run8 with this. So what should DTG do? Go back to calling this game Railworks, something like Railworks 2021. It would clear up all the confusion.
Frankly, better to report the thread to a moderator for the proper movement treatment. If people can't read which forum they are in, they can wait a day for an answer.
Why waste the mods time? Better to just give them a link to the TSW forum and not start answering TSW questions on this forum.
It's going to happen all the time given the two similar sounding product names. Feel sorry for the poor Fishing people who sometimes get train threads...
If people confused MSTS with Run 8 which don't sound anywhere near similar then whatever rebranding is carried out, it is not going to make much difference anyway. Personally I think it would be madness to rebrand TSW or TS1 just because a few people use the wrong forum. It isn't a big deal, just point them in the correct direction!
I feel sorry for the fishing people, period. Only joking. Usually happens after the sales when noobs buy TSW and make the mistake of getting the wrong forum. Perhaps DTG should have used different graphics in the first place.
Because they are paid to do it? Therefore, not really a waste of their time. Part of their job involves making sure things are OK on the forums.
I'm sure DTG employees would rather spend their paid hours making railway stuff than having to bother telling people they are on the wrong forum. It takes less than 30 seconds to post a link and send them to TSW. It's called being helpful to new members of the community. It saves time for everyone and stops TSW questions being answered here.
Just to clarify, the forum moderator job may be part of the marketing team, and such people would not be the ones to program the game. So therefore, there is no impact. In any case, it's not important.
Maybe someone on the Marketing team but I'm sure they and management would rather spent time on more important things. Besides, by reporting there is another link in the chain. Would it not save everyone's time simply to post a direct link to TSW.
Sam, Natalie and Jamie are part of their own thing, community management. It is literally their jobs to make sure everything on the forums is in check. Is it really a waste of time asking them to move threads? If I ask Go North East when the next bus to Newcastle is - is that a waste of the customer services person's time?
