Welcome to Round 2 of the TSW World Cup. Over on the Island of Great Britain, we have eight routes remaining. It's over to you to pick them!

Let's see what the choices are, shall we?

    Tie 1
    Midland Mainline v Peak Forest

Two Midlands routes, both in Derbyshire, but in very different periods of time. What wins the East Midlands; Steam, or Diesel?

    Tie 2
    Northern Transpennine
    v Southeastern Highspeed
Three trains each, one powering over the Pennines, the other racing through Kent. Both strong in the Loco DLC department, but which one comes out on top?
It's been a tough tournament for NTP; having already faced Blackpool (which recieved 111 group stage votes), now up against the second most popular, SEHS. Can NTP defy the odds?

Brighton Mainline v East Coast Mainline
Brighton Mainline, a route with an abundance of services with the 387 and 377 Electrostars, up against East Coast Mainline, offering 125mph High-Speed action in the Class 801 Azuma.
    High-Speed or Commuter?
    Electrostar or Azuma?
Many questions will be answered here!

Blackpool Branches v Birmingham Cross City
Blackpool's place in Round 2 was secured with ease, gathering 111 votes (compared to the mere 21 of NTP).
Birmingham came second in a really close Group C, just behind Peak Forest.
Will the West Midlands commuter route trump Just Trains' debut effort?

    Voting
As with the Group Stages, it is recommended you only vote for one route per tie, as it makes things more interesting.

Your votes will be capped at 4 - one per tie - so use them wisely.

Any voting option which is just '.' is a filler space. This is so it is abundantly clear which option in the poll is linked to which.
Two routes that touch each other in the poll are up against each other.

For the European and North American polls, as well as Group Stage results and updates, see the TSW World Cup master thread: https://forums.dovetailgames.com/threads/the-tsw-world-cup.77086/
To stay up to date with the competition, I recommend following the thread too.

This poll will run for a day.
    Have fun!

I feel both times the ECML has just been unlucky in it's opposition. Now solely supporting Blackpool: that is something I never expected myself to say!

Peak would beat MML hands down if it also had BR Green on it.

Peak Forest may have brought on a substitute in midfield as it seems to be rallying a bit, probing towards the MML goal mouth!

I think it would have been interesting to see SEHS vs BML. ECML definitely is a much better route than it has been made out to be here.
