The Cologne-Dusseldorf line is the first stage of the Cologne - Duisburg line, one of the most important and heavily-used rail routes in the whole of Germany. It is also a key route for regional and express services, with Intercity-Express, Intercity, Regional-Express, Regional¬bahn and S-Bahn befahren services operating along the route. Cologne main station was modified in March 2000 and is a major junction and interchange in the German railway system. A massive 280,000 passengers per day pass through, make it one of the busiest stations in Germany. Dusseldorf main station is also a major interchange, with 250,000 people visiting every day. Another major junction on the route is Deutzerfeld. It is a marshalling station for passenger trains, as well as a depot for locomotives and carriages. The locos: The DR Class 243 or as it’s well known as the DB BR 143 is a universal electric locomotive of the Deutsche Reichsbahn which is used for general rail service. Deutsche Bahn lists the locomotive as Class 143. The locomotives of class 143/243 still belong to the most successful class of German electric locomotives The DB BR 101 is a class of three-phase electric locomotives built by Adtranz and operated by DB Fernverkehr in Germany. 145 locomotives were built between 1996 and 1999 to replace the 30-year-old and aging DB BR 103 as the flagship of the Deutsche Bahn, primarily hauling Intercity services. The DB BR 151 is an electric heavy freight locomotive built for German Federal Railways between 1972 and 1978. They were built as a replacement for the ageing DB BR 150, in order to cope with the increased requirements of this type of locomotive, in particular the desire of a 120 km/h top speed The map:
Excellent idea MrSouthernDriver and why not make the entire route to Duisburg 64 kms from Köln Hbf. That way HRR and SKA are linked via Köln Dusseldorf Duisburg Railway. DB BR143 just needs Ruhr-Sieg Nord in order to be used on Köln Dusseldorf Railway as layers
Like the route a lot (and it's proximity to my Köln - Wuppertal suggestion)! I would like it even more if it extended to Duisburg and merged with HRR (and my Köln - Wuppertal suggestion could than link SKA and this route to RRO).
Maybe add the BR 422 for S-Bahn Services between Köln and Düsseldorf as the S6, S1 and S68 Services aswell as both ICE 3 and ICE 3M for ICE Services.
We need multiple Parts to Köln Hbf. The Line from the S6 and S68 and to Leverkusen like the RE1 and RE5 and the S11 and RE6 via Neuss and Dormagen with the BR 423 and Desiro HC
I don't think the route itself is very beautiful tho. And we have a couple of routes in the rhein-ruhr area. I think cologne-koblenz has way more potential and beauty than cologne-düsseldorf. But still a good suggestion.
Maybe there could be small freight extension to it by adding the IDR-tracks in D-Reisholz or BSM at Langenfeld. As we have the 101, 403/406 and 422 already ingame as Locos I‘d recommend the 462 in RRX-livery used on RE1 and RE5 as well as the 412. As a „cheaper“ alternative to the new 412 maybe a 146+doubledecker repaint in DB Fernverkehr livery. I would buy it first day because Düsseldorf is my homebase
A repaint for the BR 146 isn't really gonna work out. DTG needs to make the .5 Version aswell as the Twindexx Vario Cab Car + Coaches. In TSW 2 the BR 146.2 is currently available but not the 146.5.
