Hi TSW2, ICE3, Cologne to Aachen, PZB on, LZB on, Sifa off, AFB activated "V-Soll" I just exited the LZB part of the track and my train gets slower and slower. I apply full throttle, even see the 10 speed indicator in the speed dial, but there is no power applied, i am coasting. What am i doing wrong? When i entered LZB, i put AFB and throttle to full, approached the LZB end, quitted it with pressing END to fall back to PZB. There is no angle that indicates climbing a hill, so i wonder why there is no power applied. // EDIT: I found out it is AFB, i have to deactivate it, but then i am not sure how to reactivate it during travel
No need to deactivate it. All you need to do is put the AFB lever to zero and back up to track speed. This is prototypical - it’s a safety measure as the AFB lever would usually still be in the max position at this point. By making the driver put the lever to zero, they can’t leave it in too high a position by accident. As a side note since I’m sure this question would come up sooner or later: In TSW, this procedure will result in a brief, sudden application of the brakes. That is not prototypical as AFB is deaf to any inputs for a short period of time after LZB supervision has fully ended in the real world. Still, to answer your question, here’s the process for activating AFB on the move: Throttle must be off (not min). Put AFB lever to max (330 km/h in the ICE3). Activate AFB (via MFD in the ICE3 using the v-soll setting). Put the AFB lever to track speed. Apply throttle as desired.
